Love it man. Just picked up a JHM 89 CRX all original for 500 bucks.. Sat in a field for 10 years so lots of work still to do, but runs like a champ.. Would love to have right hand drive thats so sick.
My first Honda ever was a '91 CrX HF. My favorite car ever!!! (Until I let someone drive it and we ended up wrapped around a tree =,[ ). Since then I've had two Civic Coupes (one stock '98 , and one swapped '00 (H23A w/ LSD trans that's still in the works), a '95 Accord- 4door beater- and currently driving a 96 Integra LS (b20b swap) basic everyday driver but she rips when I need her to. Until the Integra, nothing stole my heart like the CrX and I can't wait to get another one; and you've done everything I would want to do! Beautiful machine, thanks for pulling it out man
Thank you for replying. mine is also white done some few basic mods. short throw shifter, eibach spring sport, tokiko shocks w/5 settings adjustable, rear sway bar, stainless steel catback exhaust. looking to do an engine swap, not sure what type and how much the cost.
So jealous. I had an 89 dx us spec. Loved every bit of it. I wish I hadn’t sold it. Changed the dual injector manifold to the regular four and swapped out the ECU. It was great. I sincerely wish I never sold her. Awesome JDM ride BTW. priced one out here in Japan and it was going for $12k U.S. stock but in epic condition.
I owned a new 1988 CRX Si for 12 years. I knew about the glass top car and bought the plastic model and built it thinking it was pretty cool, so it's neat to see the real car.
That’s cool👍 Would be nice to have a model, before I actually got it I thought it was going to be fake or replica 😅 But as I drove it home I felt like a kid on Christmas driving a RHD back home🙏🏼
Clean crx David, I also own a 1989Crx si but with a Jdm B16A swap Pr3 Obd0 Ecu .Very Rare Cars but that’s what makes it more exciting. Keep up the videos brotha god bless!
You need an oem stereo that connects to the oem alarm (option f on dealership) that would make this car close near to oem spec as possible. Dope as car!
On the exterior, things you missed. rear wiper is actually lower/closer to the glass for the spoiler rear window washer is on the hatch, instread of the roof. because of the glass roof rear plate mounts to the the body of the car through the bumper jdm headlights are wider than the usdm ones, Euro VT versions are glass door handles and side mirrors are painted jdm cars have the antenna on the right side also
Wow Beautiful CRX man a true Collectors CRX and rare. Lots of cool little things you get with the JDM versions that I like the rear lights with the Darker Shaded border around the lights. the CRX is CR-X on the emblem. The AC is a bit different with the knob. Its fantastic. My CRX are both 88s and I have had to replace Glove boxes , In Dash Center console, Replace the AC in my Daily many things. But that is what makes them so much fun. Easy to work on and easy to restore.
@@davidguzman775 Thanks man your collections are nothing short of awesome too. Saw that GTR in there . Dude I am telling you I have a thing for cars I am building an 88 supra 1jzgte, and a 1972 FJ Toyota jeep. It never ends
A little late with my reaction, but eh😆 I live in Germany, in Europa the orginal Honda Crx Vtec(not sir), have all thoos specs to, accept for the glass sunroof. And they have a full leather interrior, AC, elekt. Windows and Mirrors, power steering. The oudside is exact the same, and we have the steering on the left side😁.
I running a pr3 Mugen spec obd0 ecu from Japan .it's definitely a party in your pants everytime I get in it .even after 10years it never gets old .jajajja
Man this thing is Mint! I've seen posts of it and whatnot on Facebook on the Reno C&C page. Definitely would love to see this in person and see how it compares to my DX.
Very nice EF8! I had an EF9 that I built from the ground up years ago and you’re right, very minimal documentation is out there! I tried documenting and doing as many write ups about it as I could on Honda-tech when I was an active member. I have a ton of build notes and wiring schematics somewhere lol I basically back-probed and reverse engineered the entire car wiring since I didn’t have a manual and the wiring was chopped up and or missing The main distinguishing difference between USDM to JDM EF SIR chassis that would be difficult to “swap” out short of cutting the car in half is that the unibody front “frame horns” on the SIR are wider with different motor mounts and the bolt pattern for the front cross member is aligned versus offset on each side. All JDM EF chassis are post mounted seatbelts like the 88 and 89 HF USDM CRX Your brakes are larger than USDM SI, but smaller than integra. US equivalent is the 88-91 LX 4 door. You have front sway bar end links that mount to the SIR specific front lower control arms. I believe the chassis pick up points were slightly different placement as well (I could be wrong, been awhile) There is an “overheating cat” sensor that will alert via dash light if your AFR’s are off DC made headers for the JDM market as well that are rumored to be better performing (not sure that’s what you have but if it doesn’t have an EO CARB number that’s why) USDM DA Integra power steering pump will work You appear to be missing the “personal box” which is a red flocked ashtray which is a coin tray. Seems to be replaced with that carbon fiber decorative unit You have an electric VSS like more modern EG/DC+ versus the USDM cable VSS LSD is standard All I can think of off the top. Hope this helps you or whomever
I’m in Roseville outside of Sacramento. I’m almost positive I know the guy you got it from lol small world! I could have swore he was Elkgrove but it’s been a long time
So much good info very Impressive, Thank you. Yes you most likely do, it came from California. I have changed the axle its been a while but I believe it was from a late 80s Integra and the front brake pads were of a Prelude don't remember the year, also the alternator is unique I just interchanged the part number on it on and ordered it forgot what else it works on. Do you have an IG?
David Guzman thank you! It was more than likely from a 3rd gen prelude that kinda rings a bell. Axles should be standard DA axles no? That’s what I ran. They changed up the intermediate shaft in the DCs in turn changing the left inner to female That’s interesting about the alternator makes sense though due to maybe the plug type? I ran a 90-91 Integra OBD0 alternator. I really just boils down to plug styles. Yeah I’m not on it a ton since I’m not currently building anything lol @mothras13 I have been missin the Honda’s quite a bit recently and lurkin around for an Aztec green DB2 or EBP EM1locally
Thecheesewedge yes in the Prelude most likely, and yes on the Integra axles. Those Integras in that color is the best, I have also always liked the Si blue in those civics. I followed you on IG.
Car looks amazing man, there’s one guy local to my area who has a SiR. I have a 91 Hf and they’re great cars, that’s like the holy grail and we can tell you take care of it 👍🏽 good shit man
Beautiful classic bro🙌 me an my home boy reduin his 93 true rhd eg6 sir2. Full itr 5 lug w/ full 98+spec itr full swap. All bronze glass, everything. Also didnt no but u also should have factory bronze glass. Windshield also. Gather stereo? P.s 180kph is 110mph✌
back hatch sticker is Parking sticker, square sticker above rear view mirror is Car Inspection Sticker, round one on windshield is registration For the purists who want to go that extra mile...you can find these stickers all over ebay and etsy
I am pretty sure that is a "Excelsior". Super rare. Besides the glass roof, I think it has a full leather interior. If this is a true car, it is worth a s**tload of money. If you still have it, are you interested in selling it?
David Guzman- I have my Srt4 still. It's being built in my garage right now. Ripped it apart last year. I'm ready to assemble engine but I'm missing odds and ends. It's a high compression, aluminum rod, AMMfab ported head, full Brian Crower valve train with a Precision 5858 ball bearing turbo. I'm saving up for a bigger turbo. It'll be strictly drag. I daily my C300 sport and I have a 2015 F-150 supercrew for yard work.
Hi dude! Wonderful crx sir. Some things you said are wrong, I have a edm crx sir, so only exclusive from the jdm crx sir is the small cat, glassroof and door panels (in the edm crx sir we get it full leather interior but sunroof) :)
If you are ever interested in selling, please contact me. I used to own 91 si,89 hf,90 si,90 dx, so I know all about these cars and it'll be in good hands. SiR glass top is my dream car😁
Glass headlights are 100% from Japan. So those are replacements. Prolly fogged up. I just bought jdm headlights for my 95 Integra and they are glass and expensive af. Clean crx brother. She needs a altitude adjustment for sure. Needs some more low
@@davidguzman775 yeah I do have an. 88 crx hf with a d16y5 motor I want to upgrade to b16 or b18 which one you think is best. Or which one is cheaper to built. Do you have an estimate on how much I don't want nothing super fast I just want it to be more powerful than the d series maybe just a stock b series is fine for me. Any info will be appreciate
