Join us as we travel aboard Pullman Rail Journey's restored Pullman rail cars.
Pullman Rail Journeys cars are attached to AMTRAK's "City of New Orleans" service from Chicago to New Orleans. Our journey included 24-hour food and beverage service as well as fine dining for dinner, breakfast and lunch.
This overnight service consists of fully restored private rail cars and operates seperately from AMTRAK itself.
Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, a library of books and DVD's and more.
The service is first class and friendly without being pretentious. Ralroad and history buffs will love this rail service. Others will finally have the ability ot experience first class travel the way it was at the turn of the century.

Great job my dad and I rode on those cars both ways and the food and the employees were wonderful, I'd recommend this trip to anybody

AH This is land cruise like its glory days. Living in The same train very well remembered in its namesake song THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS.

In 2004, Total cereal had a discount promotion on Amtrak. Since none of us (Angie, the girls and me) had ever ridden a train anywhere, we went to Kansas City. What a fantastic vacation (without having to worry about a car!) (Amazed they still remember my old RU-vid nickname after all these years...but it's your old WGNU buddy Charlie!)

Arlo Gutherie did not write City of New Orleans. Steve Goodman did. But Arlo made it a big hit as he recorded the best known cover of Goodman's classic train song.

Had the pleasure of taking the New Orleans Crescent twice, once from Newport News to DC to Atlanta and once from New Orleans to DC to Newport News, would encourage anyone if you are able to take a long distance train at least once, even if these Pullmans are no longer operating.
