In this video I explain the role of the ILD / Pulmonary fibrosis specialist nurse. Patients who have ILD will generally interact quite often with specialist nurses for their care. The role is hugely important to providing quality care.
ILD nursing can be different from country to country, but overall they will serve as the first point of contact for patients, provide support and general advice, help with logistical issues related to treatment delivery, prescribe medication (in some countries nurses can prescribe antifibrotics), monitor blood tests and many other activities.
