Somehow you need to have some kind of gyro to keep it going straight up until it shuts off. You went this far, now go further. Smart as hell and I wish I could build that. I would make mine radio controlled.
Thats exactly what i thought, pulse jets have a high exhaust velocity to it would probably keep speeding up to a pretty good pace if you could keep it on course
Brilliant idea. I can't even attempt that b/c I have no where to work. Maybe I'll rent a space somewhere. For that flight format solid fuels work just as well if not easier. Once again, excellent job on your Pulse Jet rocket! It's amazing but don't burn up your garage.
Nice first flight, I would look at your center of pressure, center of balance. The vehicle looks like its very nose heavy...maybe work up to a gyro for more stabilized flight conditions. Very nice first flight, keep up your good work.
Large penis Wouldn't it be better the other way round because a pulse jet sucks fuel and air at an incredible rate ? First stage pulse jet , so you can drop the weight of fuel tank and engine , then solid because it is light weight and carries it's own oxidised fuel. Or am I missing something in my analyses ?
after WWII they stopped experimenting with pulse jets which I think was a foolish decision because with good design you can make them pretty fuel efficient and make a high thrust to size ratio. if we ever went to war, the engines are dirt cheap with a similar preformance to a similar sized jet engine that would cost 50 times as much. this is just a example of what we can do with this technology and what you did was impressive.

It can further be modified to get some better results because initially you can see that it was performing better but after some time it became in less amount of fuel therefore due to having less fuel it became stopped and as you know that the pulse jet depends upon three major components 1 oxygen 2 fuel 3 spark that's why it perform liner velocity formula is ( O2+f+s=1/2MV/2)=M+D=T but FOR PULSE ROCKET=mgh increase in potential energy is equal to decrease in kinetic energy and there is needed too much thrust to have=scape velocity =1/2MV2+Gmm over R
+raymonroe1983 Given that the pulse-jet is airbreathing, and rockets by definition aren't, It's not a rocket; The maximum effective altitude is based on engine design and minimum acceptable thrust, but it's likely far higher than this specific vehicle's fuel load would allow anyway.
True it's fuel load is small, however if you were to give it oxygen with it's fuel the altitude would be quite high, although you are correct it is not a rocket.
If you fed in O2, it'd stop being a pulse jet and start being a rocket anyway. Either way, I actually really like this thing and want to see more of it~!
currently building a pulsejet out of a fire proofed pringles can, I want to eventually turn it into a dumb, string constrained pulsejet powered biplane drone, do you have any resources on this other than your own videos and do you have any good word of advice?
