Puma is really ramping up their presence in running shoes. A good pairing for this shoe is Saucony Tempus for a 1-2 punch. Tempus for faster workouts and this shoe for easy runs. Tempus is another very underrated shoe.
Nice detailed review. Puma is really getting much better up with their shoes. It's a very attractive shoe to boot. Think it should go to a 8 mm drop. It does look like it has a higher volume upper.
Took this shoe out for a 5 mile run. It was surprisingly soft but its a lot of shoe. This is a good shoe for easy runs in my opinion. I returned my Nike Invincible 3’s and happy with these in the rotation.
Puma is making a comeback. It’s funny, I ran in several pairs of Puma’s back in the late 90’s. Haven’t worn them since. Wish some of the local stores carried them so I can try them on.
I tend to over pronate and for the longest time I ran in stability shoes. Now I find most neutral shoes are supportive enough and traditional stability shoes are too stiff , rigid and over correct my gate. Many shoe companies have done away with medial posts. Midsole forms have improved so much, traditional stability shoes may not be needed anymore. There is a definite blur between neutral and stability shoes now. Neutral shoes have become more stable, and stability shoes have become more neutral. Sounds like most neutral runners could wear ForeverRun Nitro.
I have the Shift 3 and Glideride 3. The Shift 3 is noticeably more stable than the Glideride 3. The Glideride is bouncer and softer, but also feels heavier. The Shift 3 is more of a compress and roll sort of feel. I notice that when I run on a sloped (side to side) surface that the Shift keeps my foot centred on the insole whereas my foot shifts in the direction of the slope in the Gliderides. The Shifts do not feel like a stability shoe (and they aren't), they're just stable. Although the Gliderides are an enjoyable ride I'm starting to thing my legs actually feel better after runs in the Shifts. The Shift 3s a definitely softer than the Shift 2s. I also have the Guide 15s (got them cheap) and I don't like them at all. I was quite sore after my last run them and have retired them. The Pumas look alright actually. I don't need stability shoes, but being stable would appear to be a good thing if it feels natural.
just picked this up from scheels.., I asked Drew from weartesters via socials.., and he said it’s good for bigger runners.., that right there sealed it. plus it was 50% off at scheel’s. Definitely worth a try.
I couldn't get on with stability shoes at all either. Tried the Tempus because many reviewers said that it's a stability shoe that doesn't feel like one and that neutral runners would enjoy, but I returned it after just putting them on and walking around the house and running in place for a bit. It did not feel right for me at all. Being a big fan of the Deviate Nitro 2 and its ride, I'm interested in this for easy/recovery runs although I already have enough in this category (More v4, Invincible Run 2 & 3, Gel-Nimbus 25, and SC Trainer). Actually, we can never have enough running shoes and that's why we keep watching new shoe reviews, right? Haha
@@UnitAlir I guess I'm just curious since I hear other runners and reviewers who are also neutral and don't need stability features saying that it rides really well. I can understand the benefits that stability shoes provide in helping runners who overpronate to land evenly and that can happen to generally neutral footstrike runners as well, especially when they are tired near the end of long runs. I'm interested in this shoe since I like the Puma Deviate Nitro 2 very much and the feel and ride that the Nitro Elite midsole foam provides. One gravitates towards certain brands because of their midsole foams, the fit, and other features as well as the overall look. For me, Adidas shoes work the best and I have a bunch of their running shoes and, based on my excellent experience with the Deviate Nitro 2, I feel like Puma also has a package of features that fit my preferences. With other brands, it's hit-and-miss with certain models. It may be the fit, the feel of the midsole, the ride, the grip of the outsole, etc. For me, the Deviate Nitro 2 has more of an "old school" vibe and feel which is quite different from all these "modern" shoes from other brands, so I'm interested in trying more of their shoes. I have my eyes set on the Deviate Nitro Elite 2 as well for speed work and looking at ForeverRun Nitro to add to the easy/recovery stable.
@@alexkhan2000 hey mate, i also agree with deviate nitro 2, but foreever run shoes just has nitro, no elite foam, in deviate its the elite foam in the forefoot that makes is good is it, i dont know how the forever run just with the nitro will feel like, ur thoughts? did u buy them already
@@ajayg9077 I just ordered the ForeverRun. Trying to log more long easy/slow miles these days so I'll give it a try. The other shoes are good for easy/recovery/slow but not so good for long runs due to their weights. I'll let you know how I get on with the ForeverRun. Looking forward to running in this.
Thank you for another excellent review. I am excited to try more puma shoes , have too many good shoes so will be a while :-) , have tried the deviate 1 and it was a bit too firm for me . Nitro foams even in same brand are so vastly different .
Funny you mention the Saucony shit, I was looking at that review you made yesterday and was wondeing why you didn't review the more recent versions. Makes sense now.
Dang, I've never considered Puma running shoes but I guess I'll grab a pair. Just purchased the ON Monster and they are legit for a 220lb runner.. Maybe my 1-2 punch.
@@kofuzi Are you confusing the Tempus with the Omni? The Tempus is PWRRUN PB in a PWRRUN shell with no medial posting so it's the primary competitor of this ForeverRun
I'll also add that as someone who runs in neutral shoes, I purchased the Tempus as a non-plated marathon racer option (still haven't opened, but will for '23 SF Marathon). Thomas and Robbe both enjoyed it even though they don't care for stability shoes in general either
I like Puma running Shoes but i hope Puma made in Future a Max Stack Running Shoe lets say 40mm 32mm With a bigger Rocker Geometry and Nitro or Nitro Elite foam that would be Awesome.
Find the NB3 just a touch squishy and my knees don't love it (only two runs in,mind you). I'm a bigger dude (200lbs and not tall), so wondering if this may be a good call or something firmer like the Hyperion you mentioned.
I respect your shoe choice, but it's getting monotonous and bias toward specific brand. When are u gonna review the more popular shoes, like the newest vaporfly or alphafly.
Frequently, the answer to any under or overpronation question is: it depends on how much you underpronate This is a very light stability shoe. Puma does have a more intense stability shoe, if I’m not mistaken. I don’t typically review stability shoes
another option 🤣🤣 I'm choosing between nimbus 25, more v4 and this shoe. I hope you guys can recommend me a shoe that can help me to ease my knee problem 🙇
Hi, probably not the best place to ask a question, but here goes... Could someone please suggest shoes that are neither soft nor firm, not high stacked so I can feel the road, and a good amount of bounce from the midsole. Mainly for daily and tempo run. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
@@kofuzi Tempus design is actually very similar to this shoe with a softer inner core (PWRRUN PB) and firmer outer shell (PWRRUN). Tempus is a light stability shoe like this one.
@@winstonwilkins Hi Winston, these running shoes are really good. Better than barefoot shoes at these distances. I wanted to go the barefoot route myself BUT the surfaces we run on are not for barefoot running. Natural surfaces have some earthly cushion, not the hard concrete and tarmac and track surfaces. I recently good the Asics Nitroboost 3 and this is first time I genuinely enjoy running in a long time. We don't have to abuse our knees and ankles. Barefoot will work for smaller distances. Build up slowly. Try to land on your forefoot/midfoot while running.
@@kofuzi Hi Kofuzi, may be make a video on why cushy running shoes are better for longer distances and harder surfaces. Thanks for your Nitroboost3 shoe video, that's my shoe now and I'm in love with running.
waiting for sales on these later this year 😂 they look amazing and discreet for daily commutes as well. hope they have a nice white color-way in the future.
