I think the Puma and Buck steels are fairly similar, although many of the Puma use 440C not 440A. Given proper care, both steels will serve well for their intended use.
Say Heah Bob, I have a Puma Warden with Saw, mine has a bone handle not stag, but it is a 440a, and the same dimensions of the knife your showing, is the Pump 440a Stainless Steel as good as the Buck 110 ,420HC Stainless, do you have any info or opinion on the Puma German 440a.
@@jclar3565 That makes zero sense, and is incorrect. Neither used steel is considered high end, but Buck's 420HC is substantially superior to 440A due to their heat treat process. Hardness is in contrast to "flexibility". A very hard steel 62 rc+ is relatively brittle, compared to 55rc which will be more "flexible" but softer, and will not hold an edge long.
