I love that video It was so helpful cuz I just bought the exact same pump! I was wondering how I was going to figure out how get it hooked up. I called a pi guy and he wanted to charge me 150.00 to hook it up. I had a brand new 20 feet pool last year and no Non of the pumps I used last year would keep it clean! Hey, sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but what exactly is a “pi guy” ? My mom just bought this pump and we got it together but we have extra peices that were left over so I told her I would look into getting a professional that could just put it together. The instructions that came with it are terrible 😩

I have the same pool as u so why doesn't my flow out of that outlet going into the pool have power like yours? Did u buy something different to have more flow. I have that sand filter also.

good question. A concrete base is probably just fine, but you want to be able to make sure the pump/filter is stationary and doesn't move about or fall over. Those are the main considerations.

How do u clean the pump basket without a shut off valve? Water just flows out and sometimes I can't get the lid back on the basket because of water flow

I have the same one and i realized that where it says xtremepower there's another option...It's basically like recirculation(it pumps the water with more pressure without going to the sand and it is use when adding chlorine etc etc.)

Agreed the pool sand is much finer and does a much better job filtering grime. Playground sand has too many small pebbles..

I'm not entirely sure what the problem is...perhaps you need some kind of adapter(s) so that your existing pool hoses can mate up with the pump/filter.

Did you use the same hoses that came with your pool or did you switch the hoses for the ones that came with the new pump? I have a best way powersteel pool and I just bought a tiger shark 12” sand pump/filter and I’m trying to figure out the new hoses but was wondering if I can use the same hoses I’ve had on my pool or if I need to switch them to the new ones that came with the pump

I used the same hoses that came with my pool originally. The only hose that came with my new filter was the short one that runs from the pump to the filter.

I'm sure 16 gauge wire is fine for this pump for distances of 100 feet or less.

That's odd. Mine set in place very easily. A rubber gasket fits around the unit, then it gets placed on the filter tank, and then the clamp holds it all in place. I hope you get it figured out!

I bought one for my house and one for a rental. Both clams failed. Not sure if I have the pump on two high or what but they both failed. I did order the name brand one and it seams like it's better quality. The clamp cost 15usd. I think for the low cost it's kinda worth it.

Use rubber hose ends . If they’re slightly bigger you simply tighten down more.., Couldnt find something thst fit exact so I went with the rubberized hose end connectors and metal clamps.,,

I see what you are referring to now. My memory is fuzzy, but that must have been a screw-in plug that came on the pump from the factory. It has to be removed prior to installing the pump/filter. I still have that plug in my box of stuff, but I suppose you can just discard it, as it is not used once you connect the pump to the filter. I don't specifically recall removing that plug, but it's been a few months since then, and maybe I'm just getting old and forgetful!

About to purchase this pump for my Coleman 18 foot pool. My question is on the clear basket by the pump could you place your chemicals in it or maybe a 3 inch chlorine tablet? If not it's fine I'll continue to put directly in pool. Great video thanks so much.

You’re not supposed to put chemicals directly into the filter/pump and it may obstruct water flow.
