I don't like cornmeal dumplings either but my aunt makes fig dumpling and it is truly amazing. In fact I prefer it than just the regular dumplings.

This looks great. Is this your spin on Haitian Soup Joumou (traditional Haitian pumpkin soup)? The people I know from other islands in the Caribbean have never heard of or had pumpkin soup before learning of it and it's significance to Haitian Independence Day.

Just to reconfirm the pumpkin and the fresh vegetables after it finished boiling you pour it into a blender? Did you strain it back in the pot or after you blend you just pour it back in the pot?
