I used christophene today for the first time in years. I made nice codfish sancoche. The trick with christophene is to get it to absorb the seasoning before you add water. I recently discovered smoked turkey neck so have used those for my soup.

I too hated christophine; now it's a staple in my sancoche!

Now I want pumpkin soup...but I still have some pelau so later in the week I’ll make it.
