Pumpkins - Onion White Rot and Flowers 💐

Hello again 🌱🌱
Going to the allotment today, I had every intention to bite the bullet and get those brassicas in. Then I spotted the Atlantic Giant pumpkins, taking over the greenhouse with their huge green umbrellas. So there was only one thing to do and that was to plant them out.
So that got me all out of Brassica planting mood. There was only one thing left to do, plant some flowers 💐 💐💐💐💐💐
I also went on a discovery mission into the greenhouse and found my ##SSPC2024 potatoes plus my BabyBoo pumpkins.
Don't worry, the Brassicas will get done, just not today 😁

I must feed them, they will thank me even more and possibly bloom that little longer.

Hi Pete, thanks. Yep it does eventually grow tall as it matures with whispy ferns, so it's quite decorative. It can also get asparagus beetle, so that's something for you to look out for in years to come. 🌱🌱

Hi Elaine the asparagus will be every better next year, I only picked a few. Pumpkin looks big😮, hope it romps away 💪👌. Shame the onions bolted, hope the new ones do the job. Leaf cutter bee's 😁, shouldn't do any damage in the long run. Water with garlic powder with water in a watching can, it eradicated the white rot at my plot👌💪😁👍🤠

Thanks, Nnick. I will try the garlic water. I think in all, winter was a bit crappy. I've had a look at my garlic, and even they haven't bulked much, and some have scapes, so I do think it was the weather. Here's hoping the new onions cut it. I've got leeks to put in, so not short of alliums. The leaf cutter bees are funny. I spent ten minutes this morning at home, watching them at close quarters. Really interesting. Let's see how big the pumpkin gets lol. 🎃🎃🎃💪😁

Oh Elaine so many issues these days 😢 but you do keep a positive attitude about it all. My squash are small but I’m putting test ones out. All looking really good now the rains let up a bit. Oh is that yellow plant invasive I grew a similar one and it took me two years to get rid. We have some beautiful rhododendron in the garden. Hope you are well and enjoying sunshine, Ali 🌞🇨🇦

Hi Ali. I hope the plant isn't invasive but I will definitely look it up. The bees razoring the tree is funny but not tragic. I soldier on regardless of setbacks and am glad I spotted it. They're in the bag (the onions) to be disposed of. Otherwise, I'm happy how things are progressing. Always positive to the last Ali. Here's hoping the rain has stopped there and your squash are okay.
