That opening by Critter reminds me of the reason I became enamored with Punch Brothers. He was the first one I gravitated toward, not Thile. His playing and the pure enjoyment on his face making music with those guys got me hooked.
I came because of Thile, since I try to play mandolin myself, but I definitely am enamored with every singlo one of them. They're all outstanding musicians in their own right!
Love “Pride of Man”. Didn’t Tony Rice do a great performance of it? (BTW, my daughter opened for Critter at a concert in a cave somewhere in California. I would have made the trip to see it, but the venue was firmly sold out.)
