Punch Needle Foundation Fabrics Explained Including Alternative Options 

Punch Needle Foundation fabrics are required for yarn thickness punch needle. The weave of the fabric needs to be loose in order to allow the needle tip and the thick yarn to move easily in and out of the fabric. The main foundation fabrics (Monks cloth, Traditional Linen, Primitive Linen, Bleached Primitive Linen and Rug Warp) are guaranteed to work!
The alternative fabric options are sometimes trial and error (5:33 mark). Be sure to look for the strands before buying.
