Memories like this are the best. I remember sometime around 2007 or 2008, back when I was in 1st grade, my dad and I used to play Daytona USA at Dave & Buster’s and he’d help me scooch the seat up because I was just barely big enough to reach the pedals. Now he’s teaching me how to drive Funny how things come full circle in a way……….
Little Mac isn't in this version of the game. He was created for the NES port because they couldn't do the transparent wire-frame graphics on the NES. That's why Little Mac is so little, it's so you can see the opponent.
@chickenfinger7829 It originally was made by recolors, so that all players could pick the same character and still know who and where they are. As the game evolved, making different skins was a fine solution too.
Cirby they never finished the harder fights after wining the belt you had to defend it against all of them again and after that it was a 3 strikes your out mode to finish the entire thing
Come on Dan don't tease us we've been waiting years for you to finish punch out on the Wii we want to see you regain your title as the world video boxing champion and maybe show a certain ape a thing or two
@@Blaziken1000 I don't remember. It was either in some old Grumps video or in a panel/Q&A video from a convention, something like that. It was at least a couple years ago, so I have no idea what video he said it in.
I've never really seen the original Punch-Out, actually, so this is cool to see! Especially since Danny's such a big fan of it. I still love that "Little Mac" only came to be because the NES couldn't replicate that "see-through" look your guy has in this game, so they made him small so you could see your opponent. Thanks for the episode, Grumps!
40 years later..... Wha.... I haven't heard that name in 40 years. Have they finish the series yet? Nurse: you do know that Dan is a skeleton now right? Me: oh....... Have they finished it at least? Nurse: no Me: FUUUUUUU-
🎶 Deliver it to my house and put it on my cock, my cock, my cock, my cock, my cock, my cock, my cock. Cheesy on my peeny and some sauce a on my balls 🎶 😊
He wasn't "Little Mac" back then, the NES introduced Little Mac because they couldn't do the see-through wireframe design with NES graphics, so they made the character smaller instead.
The arcade version of Punch-Out!! had two screens because Nintendo had a massive surplus of old TVs that they had purchased, in bulk, in response to the huge success of Donkey Kong. They basically told Genyo Takeda "Do something good that uses two screens." He made Punch-Out!!, went on to make StarTropics, and was instrumental in securing a deal between Nintendo Japan and Rare for the rights to make Donkey Kong Country.
I actually remember seeing an original Punch-Out!! arcade cabinet in a skating rink as a kid. I remember going there as a school event, and the teachers wouldn't let us go into the arcade part because there were people smoking (this was when you could still smoke indoors; gotta love the 90's!), but I distinctly remember seeing this game in there.
I used this exact line on my little brother in 2014 (we had both played the original Punch Out in the 90s on vacation). When I said his name was Pizza Pasta, we busted out laughing EXACTLY like Dan and Arin :)
sorry he will most likely not return because don replaced him and pizza pasta is a racist stereotype of Indians so we will most likely not see him (and I don't think were getting a punch-out for the switch)
@@dallunatic yes but Pizza Pasta has had only appeared in one punch-out game the original arcade release. Which was way more racist then the newer punch-out games. along with that like I said he was replaced by Don so there would be really no point of him returning and even then he not that popular so Nintendo would have no reason to bring him back. lastly I will say a lot of characters are stereotypes but not racist ones anymore. They now speak there mother language and like Aaron said about Piston Honda "he has such a great personality" which the entire point of racism is to remove all personality of a race to make them seem less then you. yes there still stereotypes but not racist ones
When Dan plays games from our era he's all, "What button do I press? But give him Punch Out from the 80's, and he's a BEAST. We all have our strengths!
Probably the start of next week. TLDR - Soon, probably this weekend. Ghoul Grumps and Jingle Grumps and the like usually start a few days before a holiday since they're a handful of one offs. Unless it's a series like Silent Hill Shattered Dreams.
I really enjoyed watching another Punch-Out. It's extremely nice to see you guys having fun and just sharing the fun of the game. It would also be really cool to see more of that with more games or even if you guys could create more things like the ten minute power hour where we see you guys enjoying things other than constantly playing video games.
We got Dan playing games before Arin. Yes. We got Dan with another Jersey story. As a jersey resident, yes. And we got Dan reliving a childhood memory, all the yes in the world. Makes me happy hearing him happy.
He hasn't forgotten. He stated multiple times that he would like to finish it, but it's really hard and it would require Dan to grind this game behind the screens and he simply doesn't have the time for that.
I played this at an arcade once. The Arcade version was a brown stand up cabinet and vertical coin slots. The voice actor for the announcer would say body blow body blow upper cut etc. Pizza Pasta was my favorite
"You're names Dan?" "Yeah I jus- Hi have we met?" "Did you just put your name in?" "Yes" "Oh" "Did you think it just knew that?" "yeah, it's like wow! you play like a Dan!"
Fun Fact: The Announcer that annoys Arin to death is actually a real person just the audio sounds weird because its on an arcade machine Fun Fact #2: The Announcer returns in Super Punch Out Arcade and super punch out on the SNES
"It blew my mind to find out that wasn't an actual person!" Uh, yeah, it was a real person. His name is Don James. I believe he's currently the executive vice president at Nintendo now or something along those lines.
They mentioned in a recent stream that RU-vid doesn't support longer playthroughs so that's why they're refraining from doing them but they might finish previously abandoned games in future streams like they're doing with Detroit right now
@@mediocreandworse59 that sucks. Why not just start a few series and mix it up between what you play. I don't know what RU-vid is doing though. So I don't know if that would help
@@mediocreandworse59 that makes no sense they upload daily their videos are over 10 min long it's not like RU-vid goes on a witch hunt for videos that are part of a series that's stupid
Oh also thank you for always being here,Both of you, I lost my best friend (my doggie) Yesterday, he woke up paralyzed and after that he just went, You guys helped me. I have been a fan since forever. The Jontron Era was shit, Game grumps is Arin and Dan, Jontron is great solo but with Arin it just seemed like bitter salty arguments most of the time. So thank you Dan for being alive (love where you've got now well done so proud of you) And well done Arin for picking the best comedy partner you could. You guys are the best. Also think back to Dan mentioning Pizza Pasta haha, Oh while im chatting shit , Dan is great at Punch-out, Arin is great at Megaman other than that you guys SUCK!!! but You are so much more than gamers, you're personalities on the media I have grown to love. Thank you so much. Thank you both for being something that has made me feel great inside.
The Game Grumps have gotten me through some tough shit too, including now 💛 My condolences are with you, and let me know if you need anyone to talk to 💞 I'm happy you feel the same about the Grumps
Guys, punch out wii was my childhood game like how this was Dan’s. I beat everyone and did all their challenges and I loved watching Dan suffer horribly through it so it would be so great if you guys returned to the wii version not to do all the challenges but just get to DK. It’s fine if you don’t I still enjoy your videos but that would be great
