Yeah... Me too... Me too Although I heard that aparently it was going to be like a Sonic Origin story but someone from Sega told the writers to scratch it out, so the game offers no good story or explanation of the world (like what up with the ruins). So yeah, the game is also lost LOL

A couple times during that sequence you'll see the gang slow down to like 70% speed for about a second so that Eggman in the foreground can catch up. They just move a bit slower for a second and then speed back up again.
Unironically my favorite part of the whole playthrough is when they knuckles glitch over the wall, walk around the unrendered town, only to accidentally take the correct path and render the town into existence. Their genuine shock is extremely relatable. A close second is, "If only I could walk faster..."
I remember watching this playthrough every day as it released to see what fresh horror Sonic Boom would spawn next. My introduction to Game Grumps had been through Sonic '06, so moments like the unrendered town really made me nostalgic.
The fucking lines from Dan throughout this are golden. The "This is like a glitch, that occasionally breaks out into a game.." line, "even the NPCs don't want to be in this game," etc.
It still breaks my heart to see all that really good concept art in the end credits for this game. It’s like they’re trying so hard to tell us “look what it could’ve been. Look how hard we tried. We wanted to make something cool, but they FUCKED us”. Honestly the game would have probably been mediocre at best even if it were cooked properly with it’s bad writing, questionable character designs, and boring gameplay (so like every Sonic game), but at least it would’ve been better than the dumpster fire it was. I dunno I just really love concept art, and they put it there for a reason.
Even with what we do see in the game there is clearly some ideas that were good but weren't given the time to be fully realized and tested. It's a shame cuz the concept art kind of proves that.
I dunno I think a dumpster fire is sometimes better than a boring and forgettable experience. At least sonic boom will be remembered which is more than can be said for some of the other sonic games
@Ace G I’ve played Sonic Adventure 1, 2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, the first 3 classic Sonic games, Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D blast, Sonic Generations, Sonic Colors, Sonic 06, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic and the black knight annnd I think that’s it. That’s not all of them, sure, but it’s more than enough to form an opinion.
I always thought the panty shots were the result of the camera not accounting for the physics of Amy’s dress, because the camera in Sonic games is really weird.
I’m surprised no one has talked about this (from what I have seen), but when he falls at 2:32:55 he hits the bottom of the stage, meaning he either A. Dodged the deathbox and hit another one that was lower or B. The game lagged killing him This is a great game
Never noticed before, but at 19:15 there's another visual glitch - Metal Sonic's trail has a gap right above Sonic's head because they teleported him forward like, a foot

Even though I've seen tons of these compilations and know what parts are probably gonna be in it, I still laugh at them like I had just watched it for the first time.

Voices are fascinating. When I first started watching game grumps years ago I had trouble telling who was doing which impressions and such. But now I am so used to their voices that they could be making the dumbest sounds known to man, and I can instantly tell who it was, lol.
I do like the character animations though. Props to the game, it’s really cute when Amy does her little idle dance And I do love how Eggman saves the day. And how Shadow appears briefly even though he does nothing, but it's very in-character that he just shows up ready to fight.
adventure playthrough made me feel so validated from childhood. I got the game for Christmas and remember being confused on what was wrong because I was playing a video game and not having fun 😂😂😂 also seeing arin yell at the stupid fish made me feel better about my inadequate fishing as a kid hahaha
It’s been a long time since I’ve watched a compilation of this series and, in the years since, I’ve seen so much good animation in games. I NEVER noticed how jumpy and glitchy and laggy EVERYTHING is in this game. Even the cutscenes!!!!! What an embarrassment

There are 2 other compilations of this playthrough and this is a perfect combination of the two. Each had bits that the other didn't for odd reasons. There were a lot of funny bits both compilations missed. Excellent work my guy! 💪

The most unfathomable thing about this game is why in a Sonic game, a series about going fast and getting rings, they don’t let you collect more than 100 rings. Even as an exploration game, it fails because getting rings should be a reward for exploring, but 90% of the time you’re at the cap.

@@Schnort yes and no. There was never a time that shitty, broken, half-finished games haven't made it to store shelves, but there WAS a time that you could count on the major developers to have polish to their games. Nowadays, AAA companies put out just as much trash as shovelware developers.
Now I'm imagining a sonic boom episode were they need ti open a door like in the game and sonic says "knuckles you can sit this out" so knuckles says "ok I'll wait for you on the other side of this big door" and just starts jumping on thin air to get to the other side and evrobody just stares in confusion like "wtf?"
Shadow's proportions are so strange in this game. He's so elongated that he looks like he needs a neck to balance it out but he doesn't have one. His shoulders throw me off I guess.
