The way Bald Bull recovers in Title Defense reminded me on how in the NES Punch-Out you can only knock him out with Star Punches or beating his Bull Charge. Otherwise, you'll fight on forever.
"If you can't beat Bald Bull in a fight, then how about an arm wrestle?" This is a reference to Arm Wrestling, a game released to arcades in 1985. There was Texas Mac, Kabuki, Mask X, Alice & Ape III, and Frank Junior. I am talking about Mask X, who looks like the Turkish Boxer we love to hate. It's revealed to be Bald Bull.
Intro: Ever since Little Mac won the world title, Bald Bull has been training with a new endurance technique. He has bulls charge at him and ram him, but he does not go down and rises back up unharmed. With this new technique perfected he is sure to be a serious threat when he challenges Little Mac for the World Championship.
All Of The Translations In Turkish (yup im turkish) 0:28 god dammit! god dammit! god dammit! god dammit! graaaaaaaaaaargh! 0:42 ow! ouch! that hurts! 0:45 come on! 0:55 damn it! 2:19 take it! 3:09 no one can get you out of bald bull's hands! 3:20 im gonna crush his all bones! 3:45 im gonna show you! 5:43 ill show you how my punch's hurt 6:15 im gonna tear you apart! if you found it helping thumbs up please
Bald Bull Title Defense definitely was a pain! Also, at 6:18, I think Doc Louis might have been referring to an old arcade game called "Arm Wrestling". It was made by the same team that did Punch-Out!!, and Bald Bull cameoed as a guy called Mask X.
I love his lines. They are accurately Turkish and also pronounced accurately too (a lot of games don't pay attention to that). I'll randomly throw out these translations; -"Kahretsin, Kahretsin, Kahretsiin!' = "Dammit, Dammit, Daammiit!" (It sounds like he briefly says "Allah" at the beginning, but it might have been cut off) -"Al Lan*!" = "Take this!" (* "Lan" is an individually meaningless and slang word that is used to express anger or similar feelings) -"Aah bee!" = "so close!" (also slang and does not actually translate into "so close" however into something along the lines of "i can't believe it didn't work" or "it could have been great if it had worked") -"Ben de onun kemiklerini çatur çutur kırmazsam bana da Bald Bull demesinler!" = "If i do not (crack and) break his bones, then i shall no longer be called Bald Bull! (by them)" -"Şimdi gösteririm!" = "Now i'll show (you)"
1:52 *bull charges Little Mac* *gets punched* *almost falls but saves it* Bald Bull: "Ha ha ha! You gotta try more to get ME down, kid!" *gets Star Punched* *falls down*
Intro: Bald Bull returns. While back in Istanbul, he came face to face with a powerful bull. The bull rammed Bald Bull in the chest, but he didn't fall down. Now with such endurance power, he can't be hurt that easily. Can Mac rack up many star punches, or will he be rammed to the core?
I always like to think that the only reason Bull thought it would be a good idea to let an actaul bull ram into him is becuase he went through a scenario simarlar to the flying ice cream truck scene from Spongebob.
I think there was an old arcade game that had Bald Bull in it, only he wore a mask and i think his name was Mask X or something. the game was called Arm Wrestling. for those who didnt know, that's where doc's comment after the second round meant.
You can actually recover yourself from a TKO just like Bald Ball does in Title Defense, when you're about to get TKO'd tap 1 and 2 rapidly and Mac will fall but land on his knee and continue to fight. Hope this helps people! ^_^
Bald Bull returns after extensive endurance training. Now immune to normal punches, and fueled by pure rage, can Mac reach for the stars, or will the Turkish Delight be all Bulls?
It's an old technique from the NES days called a "delayed jab". After a jab, wait for no more than a second and a half before hitting again with a jab. If the timing is right you'll get a star.
hes saying *god damnit damnit damnit damnit* then he says *no one can save you from bald bull* then he says *ill break his bones, if i wont then don't call me Bald Bull*
Bald Bull has appeared in almost every Punch-Out!! game along with Mr. Sandman and Super Macho Man. Is there a rule that says always put them in Punch-Out!! games?
8-BitBreaker64 Some people, such as Shaolin monks, are known for developing incredible and almost inhuman resistances to physical impact thanks to extended and harsh training and hardening their bodies, it's possible that Bald Bull has put him himself through some extensive preparations in order to become that strong.
Yea. Only star punches knock him over. It's kinda like the second fight with him on the NES Punch-Out.. only, in that one, hitting him in the Bull Charge knocked him down too..
Not exactly - it depends on the punch. The squirrel means some punches are delayed, but others are faked and you can get a star by punching him at the right time.
You'll beat him.I'm watching the vid because I' m on Mac's Last Stand mode.Fighters come at you in random order.Bald Bull was like the 5th fighter. This game is awesome
Then try this trick. Spam hooks as soon as you see steam come out of his nose. You know, the one he issues right before he actually charges. The first one will miss, but the second one will hit! Hope this helps.
Not sure if anyone else caught this one -- but Nintendo made an arm-wrestling game and Bald Bull did a cameo in it. In case you were wonder'n 'bout that one arm wrestling comment.
so I've read you can get a star everytime you're able to jab him, not just when he rubs his gloves before punching after each series of your jabs, or single jab (in case of his rubbing gloves punch), you jab him again after half a second
(1:48, 5:31, 7:16) Is Bald Bull programmed to use his Bull Charge at specific points (i.e. 85 Seconds before Round 1 Ends, 44 Seconds before Round 2 ends, 145 Seconds before Round 3 ends)? Or does he perform the charge at certain damage thresholds? Or does he perform the charge randomly?
Here are some of his lines. I do not know the language, I am taking this from RyuGaGotoku on GameFAQs. :30 - Kahretsin, kahretsin, kahretsin... - Damn, damn, damn... (he says "kahretsin" sometimes when you dodge) :42 - Ah be! - Snap! (could be any expression of anger / surprise) :50 - Vay be! - Impressive! 2:00 - Al lan! - Take this, boy! 3:10 - Seni Bald Bull'dan kimse kurtaramaz. - No one can save you from Bald Bull.
I've never been able to beat TD Bald Bull normally. I only managed to eek out a win by decision by knocking him down once and avoiding getting myself knocked down.
Yeah dude. Never really played the OLD punchout. And i don't know the exact time to delay a punch. I know that you have to punch at oppurtune times to get stars but i don'tknow when that works.
seeing how difficult it is to dodge his attacks and KD him, I'm gonna have trouble wiht him :( another thing, howcome you never punch him in the chest? does he recover energy after you hit him
@ispintime Here's a hint. When you see steam coming out of his nostrils as he prepares to run, he's about to do the Bull Charge. If you've got a Star, that's the time to press the button. If not, wait until the moment the steam stops.
WHy is it when you hit him with a star punch after he gets knocked in belly and stands back up he falls over, but when I do it, it takes some of his health away, but he doesn't fall over?
it's going to take a while before I get the timing right on the charge to get a star after his rubbing gloves punch you have to delay the 2nd punch a little?
Hes one of my other favorite Punch Out opponent's. I just like his attitude and how he is"And to also take the pain". Just like a bull,a really bald bull.
Yeah, if you countered the Bull charge, as soon as he steps in and wipes his mouth with his hand, star punch him for a 1 hit KO :D So many ways to get stars in this fight..
okay i haven't actually played the game and can't afford to buy a wii right now. but i am curious, what happens if you lose in title defense? does the fighter you lost to become champ and you have to win the championship back? like if i lose the Title Defense fight to Disco Kid, is he then word champ and holding the belt?
how do you get stars by jabbing him in the face after a rolling punch? I got it right about 4 or 5 times, but I don't know what you really need to do to get a star. secondly, why is it that BB can withstand a bull but not a star punch? is the star punch stronger than a bull? highly unlikely, and thirdly when did bald bull get crazy? at first he wasn't THAT crazy, he was only angry.
