You gotta respect his tenacity when it comes to boxing. The kid specializes in dancing to the point where he frequently wins trophies, yet he still loves boxing just as much despite clearly being unsuited for it
Fun fact: Disco Kid is actually an updated Kid Quick (from the original arcade). Both 20 years old, both from Brooklyn, and Disco Kid's data file is named "kidquick".
But to be fair, the Minor Circuit boxers are fought in the order of their losses, from most to least. If you compare Von’s and Disco’s record, Von Kaiser has 1 more loss than Disco Kid, therefore placing him lower than him, despite the fact that Von Kaiser has wins that are literally at least 5 times more than Disco Kid’s
Uh no King Hippo would beat Disco Kid up minus the fact that after when you knock king Hippo down once he falls out of the ring but that's besides the point the reason why I said at the start of this comment don't forget about the punch what king hippo does after when he reaches half health if I remember correctly.
@@EthanDurk-ks1vhI'm glad it's just music because Disco Kid has a genuine passion for what he does and would probably be appalled if he got accused of cheating
+AAA Battery You are listening to the American 1970's contribution to musical history. Unfortunately even Disco's creators knew it was doomed to die soon after it's creation.
Francis Grondin Have to agree. TD Glass Joe can be quite tricky, he gained a defensive gimmick, fast punches and slow fake-outs which can catch you off guard and completely disrupt your momentum in a match. TD Disco Kid got a few new moves but when you learn how to block/dodge those he isn't that different from his first fight, just a little faster.
0:00 Intro 0:10 Fight Theme 1:29 Countdown 1:45 Pause Menu 2:49 Pause + Countdown 4:11 Knockdown Opponent 4:26 Move On/Rematch 4:41 Fight won (DANG! HOW DO I KEEP GETTING THIS MUCH LIKES IN A FEW MONTHS!?)
HE WAS??!?!?!!!?!?! WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?? He has his own spot now! Because if you are in smash bros, you are one of Nintendo,'s GREATEST characters. I REST MY CASE!!!
The thing that makes this so memorable compared to other themes is that the creator of this video actually made the different remixes flow together, and the result is beutiful. Hell, all we need now is a good singer and we can actually make a song out of this.
Same. I was in second grade when this game came out. And was 9, and still in the single digits. Now, I'm 22, old enough to drink, have been for a year, and have been an adult for 4 years. Time just FLEW, man.
This slaps honestly, not the harder than my dad's belt type but once you keep listening to it, you'll feel the vibes, I already listened to this the 10th time.
By far one of my favorite characters and a massive play on the archetypes of the disco scene, his music is one of many I'd consider legendary out of the entire soundtrack for this game and that's saying a lot when this entire soundtrack is as fire as it is.
"You ready for this? Yeah, Disco Kid!" "I've got the disco fever! Can you feel the rhythm?" "Step it up, Mac. Where's your hustle?" "Here it comes!" "Five, six, seven, eight. And stretch, and back, and down. Now flex, and straight! Let's go." "C'mon Mac, feel the burn! Let's work it!" "I have a three-step program for you. I punch you. You fall down. I win!" "I could teach you how to move. One, two, three!" "Whee! Whoo! I am fab-u-lous."
R.I.P. Ps. If I'm being honest. Aran Ryan probably has a better chance getting into the next game, due to his loud, antagonistic, and overall unique personality. Plus moveset potential with his Flail and Irish lucky 7 gimmick in his fight. But every fighter in Wii is an awesome choice for a second rep.
They missed a big opportunity with this game in terms of multiplayer. Why not chose from the opponent roster? Imagine Soda Popinski vs. Super Macho Man, or Disco Kid vs Great Tiger. Don't get me wrong, I love the game-but Nintendo would have had a lot more success if they implemented a mode like this.
i can already see him as an assist he comes up and says "WOO" before making a disco ball come from the top of the screen as he dances causing all players to taunt uncontrollably with this song playing in the background
Nintendo should have had an Easter Egg, or Achievement titled "Saturday Night Fever" for players that used a WiiFit, where performing the right moves with the chucks and floor pad, we could get Disco Kid and Little Mac to dance to the BeeGees!
Son Taburetski Currently my top 10 stands at: 10) Bald Bull 9) Glass Joe 8) Bear Hugger 7) Piston Hondo 6) Great Tiger 5) Disco Kid 4) Aran Ryan 3) Super Macho Man 2) Don Flamenco 1) King Hippo
Smash character: is going to be announced Everybody: CRASH BANDICOOT!!! Trailer: it starts with Little Mac beating the crap out off everybody and then all the sudden disco music starts playing and Little Mac see's Disco kid DISCO KID! rocks to the beat! And then it shows Disco kids attacks and stuff
Massive respect to Disco Kid for being the Wii's only newcomer (besides Donkey Kong, funnily enough another DK) and doing it so flawlessly. Punch-Out Wii relies on the franchise's already existing characters and fleshing them out, so Disco has a lot to live up to and he fits in perfectly while being super unique as well.
Fun fact even tho some of you probably already know this. Disco Kid’s theme is the only opponent Boxer theme with a Pause + Countdown Theme in the whole game.
I wish he was harder to defeat, he'd be such a good vibe if he was ranked higher (major league), just imagine the moves this guy would've had if he was harder :( Btw, his theme is FRESH
Wow, you did a fantastic job with this....one of the best themes from the game made even better. I wish they would release a soundtrack for this game. I'd sure buy it.
Bartek Dziarmaga Very cool. If I had to pick my top 10 though, I'd add in Glass Joe, Disco Kid, and who can ever forget Doc Louis? "I wanna tell you a secret, I love chocolate bars! Hahaha!"
Went from being Pookie in New Jack City (as Kid Quick) to a Carlton Banks/Byron Saxton (from WWE) mashup with an amazing soundtrack. He definitely got better with age.
