Wow this video is really good but also really scary, ive almost got the basics down and thought i was doing pretty well but after seeing this im way off, a lot of those plays had concepts and details i dont really consider in depht. Thanks.
Absolutely love this! Carly makes some of the most complex poker concepts appear very simple. Carly you have to do some more content of your own, the poker world demands it!!! Hope to see Part 2 soon.
Plot Twist: They were actually all outrageous punts, but Carly has bluffed Nick off calling her out on them. Seriously though, big respect. Great video.
@@eastyyy22 hahaha well there's no joy to be found in other people's misery to the point where i wonder why i even watch your sessions cus apart from the education, they make me just as miserable as my own do! thanks mate, keep up the good work and gl!
Great episode of Ponp, she explains her thought process very well. Plus i had guessed the KK with no heart so i felt like a genius altough i suck at cashgame. Thanks for the episode Nick !
Like this episode so far - First hand is good, solid and standard bluff, 1-0 second hand is easiest snap call OTR (plenty of bluffs possible) I seen for a while and most unneccessary bluff I ever seen but this raise will make money because folding range will be so large for OOP (because there will be...a lot of bluffs from OOP so much so no need to even have a good blocker), 2-0 still not a punt. 3rd hand I am surprised only wanting a Shove/fold - Did she ever give River a block option? Feels to me like EV difference between check/bet 30% wouldn't be so large, unless Villain really gets his range right OTF/OTT with a perfect combination of Flop 2b, Turn 2b, Flop Defence/Cbet and Turn defence (doubt). I am disappointed didn't discuss his cbet Flop range and EV of raising the 53 will shoot up if we suspect this is a Range bet by villain, increases EV, especially if we think Villain will not aggressively 3bet the Flop which I suspect some of his 3x will do but also good Ax. I think this is very important to know he is cbetting Range OTF, because it would massively increase combos in his Flop call range and down subsequent streets, as if you play checks, you will not have as much Ax, 9x and 3x as they will sometimes want to check OTF. I really think there should be value bets OTR with this hand - so if the Simulation run is just GTO Wizard then I'd say that's pretty useless vs reality. Love a good PIO nodelock vs Range B25 here. Ofc if you played this vs a player has a checking range OTF, way Carly described the hand makes much more sense. I would just block/call, can't go bet/folding here for 22% as played, just soooo many bluffs - wow that's a thin value shove by villain or the edgiest bluff of all time, I don't really know why anyone could fold a value hand here OTR when there are just sooo many bluffs possible that humans will find and good luck to them balancing their bluffing frequencies OTR. I honestly don't think this is a punt despite what is being said. (Edit I ran the sim vs an OOP range bet for 25% and it'd play this hand exactly how she played it) 3-0. 4th hand is not badly played in anyway makes a lot of sense to semi-bluff OTT and blast OTR as this hand beats zero hands in Villains range and check/call is real bad. 4-0 She needs to stop bluffing into strong hands
Thank you so much Hildreth! Glad my hands/explanations were convincing enough to earn 4 “no punts” :) Also I did try to give smaller size with the 53 hand and once you split the turn and go for the bigger size, it will always just shove or ck river.
I think Carly didn't appreciate and/or understand your self-depreciating bits every time you said things wrong, but I loved it. Not to mention the poker content, it's great as always, Thanks, Nick!!!
For some reason I was not expecting to see an italian (like myself) guest on this series! Were those hands played on Stars.it btw? Such a great in depth analysis!!!
@@eastyyy22 that’s fine! I think I’ve never even watched any poker content in Italian, that would be very weird! I assumed she was on stars.it cause I saw a few Italian-looking opponents names at the tables but I guess that was just a coincidence! Congrats again for this amazing content Nick and thanks to Carly for this super useful stuff!
Really nice video. I agree with Nick's vote on every hand. Especially in hand 2, I think jam is a lot better than call, as you have zero blockers to what they're reping (straight or flush), and having a 6 can even block some bluffs. Very bad bluffcatcher. As for hand 3, another reason for it being a punt is that she's going way too thin for value on the river against an opponent she says is going to checkraise a lot. Thin value is only good against opponents who call too much and only checkraise the nuts. If that guy is the compete opposite I'm always checking back here.
Poker hottie alert!! 😍 No not you Nick, sit back down, son. What a great player. Her facial expressions have as many nuances as the game itself. [Carly, you remind me of a young Callie Thorne, the actress from The Wire / Rescue Me]
@@dont_hate_me8939 I certainly did! I particularly appreciated the detail you went into on the 65 hand. I thought Easty did well to resist your explanation for the 53 hand. Clearly, he's learnt from the time the Wakko almost charmed him into giving that T-high bluff-catch a no-punt. Can't wait for part 2
Great. Glad you liked my analysis on that hand :) ahaha to be fair, it’s not easy being in Nick’s spot. If it was me with the wakko, i would have given him a no punt on that T9s hand. He was sooo convincing! Hope you’ll like the second part as well :)
Not looked at the sim but does 98o, 87o defend pre at 500z rake structure? Just wondering if solver does take this line OTR if there is any credence to folding out 8x chops?
OK just snuck a peak at the solution and it seems: -98o,87o LF defend pre -we mainly 3b/f 86s no bdfd (mainly continue w/ a call w/ bdfd combo)(xeliqq correctly went w/ the larger XR but ofc the sim is somewhat scuffed from the start as as Carlotta correctly pointed out that lots of bigger (inc' oB) get in there on these type of textures and LF small sizing but ofc fine to play only small sizing (exploitatively agree its better) -OTR it's somewhat moot due to minute amount of 86cc but we do jam some (folding out all trips) and mainly catch so it's not particularly about folding out chops but more so we turn our now mediocre SDV into bluff w/ excellent blocker properties to Top-of-Range. I was familiar w/ spots where we turn trips into bluffs on FC/ runouts and I guess the more/weaker the flushes in V's range the more appealing it is (and trips). I just assumed V had to defend some Trips and likely better catches than some flushes due to blocker properties. Always enjoy the content and can Carla please convince her bf to come on if/when he returns. No face reveal needed ☺
How the first hand 54s is a no punt is beyond me, it's a punty mcpuntface all over 100% from the initial crazy ass 3 bet to the punty flop turn and rivers. Awful. Which is why I play at the level I do!
Fcuk it I just checked my own ranges I use (MPT) and 54s is a 3! in the BB Vs the SB most of the time. I didn't even know, and so stand corrected. Need to study a bit, though it is the obscure end of the ranges.
