Mama Labradoodle Orca is back in the Doodle Den!
After a medical leave of absence, Orca received the all clear to come back to her puppies. The puppies were overjoyed to have that warm, caring, soft Mama body to curl up against. While we can fulfil all the nutritional needs of the puppies and give them endless snuggles, nothing beats the love of a Mama dog.
Orca is settling back in comfortably and while she still tires easily as she recovers physically, you can see the happiness in her eyes to be back with her little family of medium Australian Labradoodles

You and Reynold are a very good doggy momma and daddy!!. Sure happy that Orca was able to be reunited with the puppies as she totally enjoys the role of momma, whether her milk bar is working or not. I know that the puppies are gaining momma wisdom just from being with her. Sorry the humans are taking the brunt of the work load and lack of sufficient rest. Great job Claire and Reynold !!

Orca got the all clear from her follow up appointment today. Her infection is gone! Her immune system is so robust thanks to her diet of natural food and her age, that the nasty bug didn't stand a chance!

They look so health and big! I had to do the Kg to pound conversion to make sure I was understanding their weight and turns out their weights convert to about three pounds. That is HUGE to me because when we got our current medium size MALD, Marley BB at 8 weeks, he was four pounds! I thought they were looking about his size at 8 weeks but it’s always hard to rly tell from looking at a picture/ video but the weight conversion tells no lies. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that Marley BB’s mom was fed kibble and Marley was weened to kibble. He now has a mostly raw diet with some mixing of homemade cooked meat when he is being picky / not excited about eating. Anyway those truly are some chubby babies! LOL can’t wait to snuggle one of them!

It may be from the different food. Our petites are usually around 4 to 5 pounds when they go home and our mediums around 8 to 10 pounds. Orange collar right now is almost 4 pounds - I just happen to remember his weight off the top of my head. Eating a healthy whole food diet makes a world of difference for the health and well-being of dogs from puppyhood through to geriatric
