Great vids of Saber, beautiful boy. I just lost my Female Shepherd yesterday, she was almost 14 years old. Putting her down was the hardest thing I've ever done. I've had male shepherds for over 30 years and Maya was my first female. There is a different connection with a female, she's been like velcro since the day I rescued her and she's been at my side for the last 7 years. Keep up the good work with Saber and I'll check in on future videos when I'm to the point where they don't make me cry! I've had GSD's for over 30 years and they are the best breed I've ever dealt with.

Man, you mention anxiety. I'm completely with you there and I'm setting myself up with a GSD pup very soon (I go and visit tomorrow :) ) so I'm looking forward to commiting a lot of time to training him and getting him used to the outdoors with walks and new experiences. I'm glad you've been on a similar path and I hope things keep progressing!

I was just going to watch the first couple of minutes of this video. But this GSD is so beautiful and cuddly that I couldn't resist watching the whole video. Although I did listen to the gentleman in the video my main focus was on this adorable dog. So sweet.

I love your dog! He's so beautiful. I still don't think I'm going to see a breeder, however. Shelter dogs tend to be a lot healthier in the long run, and hold a place in my heart. Saber looks great.

Beautiful GSD! Tip for you - I would highly recommend trying to break the tail chasing - I recently saw a Shepherd that had quite an advanced tail chasing habit/obsession and did it constantly with the owners not being able to stop it... Looking forward to your raw feeding vid! Thanks!!

Nice video, crack on with this raw feeding one, I pick up my GSD in 5 weeks or so( from Vonziu), after doing my homework I'm certain raw is the way to go, but it's the confidence of knowing what I'm doing. So someone who's gone through this a few months previous will be valuable.

Were you in the military and liked the qualities of a German Shepherd and that's why it was important to own one for yourself?

My pup is 10 weeks old, and 20 lbs (~9+ kilos). He is growing like a weed. We started him on a RAW diet just as soon as we got him, which he is loving. We are amazed at his strength! Your comment on males being more challenging to raise and their attempts to dominate are really accurate. He is constantly challenging us. My wife has given up on him, but I really enjoy his spirit. He is an absolute mess when it comes to playtime. He is a real GOOF, and very funny to be around. (and did I mention STRONG ??? ) The only negative thing I would say about him is his biting habits. To him, EVERYTHING is a Chew toy, including our hands and feet. (and shoes, gloves, tools, blankets, and of course, about 20 toys, and crinkly water bottles). My hands and ankles are really beat up from his biting. Any advice you have on dealing with this trait would be helpful, and welcome. All the best

Do you feel GSD see straight into your soul. My GSD called Oscar is long haired. We rescued him 15 months ago. He was 10.5kg under weight. He couldn't wag his tail because it was knotted into his hind quarters. He didnt bark. He would jump up every time someone moved. I thought his teeth had been knocked out because they were full of tartar. And he stunk to high heaven. We had to bring him home with the car windows open. Now he loves playing chase or hide and seek. He loves the puppy dance but he knows that i am boss. I have bitten his ears to let him know that i am the pack leader. He is so funny when he realises he needs to let me go down the stairs before him. He reverses back up the stairs. He is very loving and when i come home after being at work i get big fusses. He also hates it if i have been stroking other dogs when he is apart from me. I took him to the local cenetaff for the rememberence service the other week, He was brilliant considering there were loads of people, children and dogs. All of which he thinks want to play with him. They are very affectionate and love nothing more than cuddles. I have started looking into a raw diet after i saw your video. I have been looking into where i would source the meat etc. I already give him bones which brought his teeth up to white and his gums are pink instead of black. You do need to be strong enough to gain the leadership then they will train well. They like something to stimulate their brains.
