The last clip is a bit buggy. I spent a long time making the script and tried to pass every incorrect password attempt to a single chain that would reset everything, which didn't work. Before I could fix it the game crashed, so I decided to just post what I had.
What's even crazier is that door didn't even push the budget 1%. You could easily make a map full of doors like this and still be able to make some huge and detailed maps.
I would imagine it would cost very little to practically nothing for a way more elaborate map with more fleshed out scripts than mine. The budget isn't limiting in the slightest.

I hope 343 doesn’t limit the budget in any way to gatekeep or make it more compatible with the Xbox one. It’s almost too good to be true but if force drops just as it is I’d be so impressed and happy with everything 343 has done with it. I’ve already thought about 5 crazy maps and game modes even though I haven’t been a heavy forger in the past

I seen 1 other video that has Cod zombies windows getting there. This will be the video for doors and buyable guns. Now we just need zombies, maybe Mystery box and perks and well be good to go.
it could be like infection where players are the zombies. But what would be more exciting is if they add ai programming and we could program bots to be zombies
The script nodes are some of the best we could have had in the franchise,343 they're putting a lot of effort into bringing in a well-prepared forge for launch.
There's Spartan bots, though limit seems to be only 8 (used to be 4 and 8 if you have two teams but ever since alpha event or something now there is 8 and 16 if you have two teams) Wish it was 16 without teams
Only things I noticed while watching the debug logs was buying things didnt seem to subtract currency, and the shotgun registered every pellet as an impact (I think). This is a BEAUTIFUL proof of concept though, and the node editor is going to seriously put Halo above a lot of other sandbox games
Buying things does cost, I just forgot to put the debug output in there. My bad. Every shot was supposed to give 5 points, which was glitchy to say the least. The door and gun costs 100, the upgrade costs 1000. I did end up upping the amount of points given, just so you didn't have to sit there and watch me shoot for an hour just to get 1000 points lol.

Nice! Now what I'm thinking of is that "Retro" Password save system and "XP" in case people end up making "mmo" style maps so they can load up their progress and unlocks. (thats impossible my guess but its a thought XD) Edit: Hope Forge comes out soon.
What I would really like to see is the ability to upload your own models. People are making new guns by changing what happens when you shoot, but if you could put the ray gun, thunder gun, and 1911 in you could actually make a real cod zombies with purchasable weapons and doors. Obviously the object library is very extensive, but there is no ability to change the guns and that seems really limiting. being able to make the BR shoot like a DMR is cool but if you could make it LOOK like the reach DMR it would be a very different experience.

So they added the hidden stuff in H2A and H5 Forge together as well made it easier to know what you are actually scripting together. This time 343 is going all out with Forge and hopefully Custom Game options.
The amount of scripting for simple things like a door is absurd looking. Halo 5 scripted doors are two lines of script if I remember right. I scripted a lot of things in halo5, and I'm impressed with Infinite, but this seems like a way more of steep learning curve. hopefully it there's an optional simple menu or realize 5 boxes of script is much for simple things like doors. regardless I can't to go ham on it.
Same, I like to forge in free time and no doubt it would take awhile to get ahold of how advanced H:I forge is looking so a option between the two would be nice with the advanced part as a sort of gateway to crazier scripting
The door in this video is a combination lock. If I was able to fix it before the game crashed, an incorrect code would've reset the locks. That's the only reason it was so complex.
Yes my point is we really gotta script the option to script a combination locked door? Combination locked objects scripts were they be in halo5 would (after setting how open door get then closes) have simple extra script saying set combination and bind to alpha or barvo etc. I love the conversations and the possibilities of forge but like most say customs browser HAS to launch with it.
Everything I've seen with forge so far tells me its beyond anything we expected. So much so we could create COD Zombies in the game but better... all they need to do is add flood and boom! Better than zombies
The beta is supposed to launch End of August or Start of September. Essentially contains the full forge but in a flight condition with Season 3 aimed for a full launch. Anything crafted in the Beta will carry over
It may look complicated, but you just have to think about what steps you need to take to make what you want. Look through all the options and determine if the idea is possible. The only real complicated part is all the math required for some ideas.
Imagine whenever you die you don't get sent back to the lobby but respawn as a zombie And for higher weapons there locked behind doors which need power to be opened And mini objectives to also get xp for it
I can bet you any amount of money that 343 will monetize popular maps from forge or games by allowing the creators of them to charge money, like 2.50 for the map, and 343 will take a percentage. Do you think they will do this or no?
you obviously havent been paying attention for the past year. you do realize forge videos/pictures have been getting leaked before the game even came out (during the first flight). bet you didn't see the video of someone making the gravity gun from HL2 back in December now did you
You talking about a video that was taken from the campaign coop flight. There's plenty of prefabs out there for this stuff now. Videos taken during this time were all pretty much concepts, not tutorials.
