I'm a mile up a hill from the Ohio River in WV about 60 miles SW of Pittsburgh, like you I've been talking about getting a small tractor with a backhoe, loader and mower deck. My yard is all hill and it beats the daylights out of conventional lawn mowers. I also have back problems, so hand shoveling is out. I decided to pay off my truck and invest in a tractor with backhoe. My local Massey Ferguson dealer is only on the next ridge over. They had an open house last week and I thought I'd check it out, fell in love with the 1700 series. Did my homework on You Tube, and was impressed. I financed through MF, my payments (0% financing) are the same as my truck so I won't even feel the difference. I got the GC1723EB model with just an acre of ground, I didn't feel that I needed the extra horsepower, arm rests, or work light that's on the MB model. It came last Friday (March 31), been trying to figure it out since (my first, and probably my only tractor). Already I got it stuck in the mud hole next to my driveway, as soon as the ground dries that mud hole will be no more. Looking forward to many years of tractoring. 😃😃🚜🚜
I just bought my 1st tractor 2 days ago. I've had to work 12 hour nights so I haven't really got to mess with it much. I'm excited as well. We have about 6 acres out in the woods and a few horses. It's definitely going to beat idiot a shovel and elbow grease!
Just across the river in Indiana... glad RU-vid recommended your channel. I'm excited to see how things go with your homestead and tractor life! Plus... us Massey guys have to stick together with all the orange and green fans throwing rocks at us lol. For me, having a little land and being outside on the tractor is an awesome way to spend a weekend.
The jack stand thing my daddy taught me that back in the sixties when I was just a kid except we didn't have jack stands we use like an 8 x 8 piece of wood only we put it at the back of the trailer just in front of the skids that way you don't bend your trailer in the middle

You are right. I would say a rear blade,set of weights, and a King Cutter 4.5 ft. disc harrow right away.(I'm old fashion,never owned a rototiller). I even bot a plow(they are handy but old fashioned.) Then maybe a finish mower or a 4.5 foot bush hog.
Buy a rear blade(5or 6') no belly mower(rear finish 5 or 6') and maybe a 4.5 ft King Cutter discharrow and you are set. Nice tractor. Be watchin for more vids. Thanks
@@lawnBot best buy is Bobcat. I've had 3 2 case and 1 Takeuchi. The bobcats were no maintenance, better service, and good solid machine with great resale. Plus their dealerships are well trained and better parts and backup. Seems their more numerous and skid steers aren't a sideline like some other dealerships. You don't have to wait for them to service combines, balers, and planters to work on your Skid steer.
Smart man. Really like your Massey! You bought a fork with it. Most useful tool you will use. Like to see an action video to show what you do with it. Thanks for video. I bot a Massey in 1976 for $5200. Paid for itself many times putting in yards and snow removal. Took care of it and sold it for $12,500. Tell your wife you just made the best investment since your wedding license.
Just found your YT channel this week. Great video, I'm ready to pull the trigger and buy a used 1725mb this weekend. Nervous as heck about this. What do you think about one of these with 700 hours on it? Any weird quality control problems that you encountered?
I purchased the same thing and I hope you're not as disappointed with yours as I am mine when you're trying to do some plowing it won't even spend the tires it just bogs down the power steering goes out if you're trying to raise the bucket and turn the steering wheel at the same time and several other things it's just a poor tractor
It was already installed when I purchased the tractor from the dealer. I can't say for certain, but it might be a titan product. The pallet forks I got with the tractor was Titan. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
