Storage Unit Auction
We traveled to Dallas Texas in search of treasure from an online auction we won in the website storage treasures
It costs us approximately $280 Dollars and we found some pretty interesting items.
This is the first time we do this type of thing, what got our attention was the shipping boxes

part of storage treasures Terms of use any personal documents or pictures you are supposed to leave with the facility so they can get them back. they are not yours they still belong to the person who had their stuff taken

You are supposed to give/return any personal stuff like paperwork & documents back to the previous renter of the unit!

That's a great find. Check out the company website. Some of the vases and glasses go for $30 to $225.

You got thousands of dollars in merchandise. That was a great score between the boxes and the glass. All new! That stuff moves consistently on EBay. I'm curious, one year later, how much did the two of you net from your first storage locker?

The usual thing is to leave the personal paperwork with the storage facility, so they can return them to the original owner.

Yes sir, thanks, we returned as many boxes to the front office with photos and paper work, this was our first time doing this I felt a ton of sentiment as well

If they abandoned the unit, they didn’t pay and moved on, how the hell are they going to return anything to them?!?!

@@kickrocks1016 It is standard practice to leave personal paperwork with the storage facility. Most of it never gets picked up, but if someone is in a desperate situation and couldn't afford to pay, will still pick up what they can if they are contacted. You will find things like a full family of birth certificates in some units - that sort of stuff makes getting identification or licenses much easier as they move on in life. The amount that gets picked up varies from nil to about a third from the facilities I have spoken to about this. A couple of facilities I have spoken to use one of their storage units to store it all for up to ten years before they will dump it - I don't doubt other just chuck it in the dumpster as soon as the buyer has left. And the occasional facility just doesn't want it back and won't accept it (it is easier to ask when you start picking up, because then you don't have to look for it while loading the truck). The storage auctions here in Australia, have in the terms of the auction that personal paperwork must be left with the facility - and they are mostly based on the American model.

Wow, seriously your so lucky they let you use their dumpster. Also how much was all this? I estimated this was like a $500 Adventure Because gas, Milage, fees, food, time I mean did you turn a profit? No truck, no knife, no editing I mean wow

Wrong bro, that's not what u need to be aware of... what u need to be aware of, are the super shady facility people who not only rummage through the stuff beforehand, but cancel your win and don't even inform u... especially for somebody traveling hundreds of miles!! Insane... highly recommend researching better... plenty of reviews on what I said.."I just got cancelled on a Monday win"... horrible experience.

@@Thrill_SeekerTV the reason for cancels ("if it's truly honest/legit") should only be for tenants who pay their past dues in full (& that's a great thing too, what everyone should want)....but, there's some who have proven that they cancel because the final bid isn't enough to cover any past dues.... That would be corrupt (especially if the stuff inside doesn't warrant it).... It's just a risk in this business.
