Today I added a transposing on-shot sampler as well as a monophonic multi-sampler. The multi-sampler right now is a little hard-coded, but it serves my purposes right now. I put the crash and ride samples on my old sampler, because they could be punched in very quickly and I wanted to layer them with the (monophonic) multi-sampler. I then typed in a baseline as well as a melody for the hit sample that follows the same pattern afterwards.
Then I changed the length of the first recorder to 64 (regular is 32) so that I could play a melody that is a double the usual length.
If you know what song I am playing, please tell me in the comments :)
Hint: It's a German rap song!
Regarding typing speed: It took me way too many tries to get this as concise as it is know. Most of the time I would get one timing wrong or play a single wrong note while typing in the melody. For the future, I should put in a fast way of clearing the recorded notes and starting all over, since pressing (ß & rec1clear & rec1on) takes a lot of time and even worse a lot of mental effort. It's not just about remembering the sequence, I need to remember what state the objects are in and that freezes my brain for too long. I also mostly look at the keyboard right now, switching to the screen feels like code switching. I would love to try this with someone proficient in 10-finger writing style. Maybe I should get back intern that.
