I've been listening to grunge stuff non-stop since 1999, when I was only 14, and I think I'm entitled to say this: I'm glad there are people like you who keep this genre alive. Your vocals rock!
So close, almost nailed the line “No one here’s a sound” When it goes high with grit. Also almost nailed Pure Masiiiiiiiiicaar but it went into falsetto (Up and down) instead of holding it, but close.
Damn, as an old school silverchair fan that grew up in the 90’s early 2000’s you absolutely nailed that! Able to replicate the grit in Daniel John’s voice. Very good. Would love to see some more
Take good care of your voice. It's a good idea to work with a vocal coach to even prevent permanent vocal damage from the start. Especially if you sing with that kind distortion + play guitar at the same time. You might be able to force yourself through a 3-5 minute recording like this and sound relatively "nice" since the expressive screaming effect covers up all lack of missing vocal technique. But if you continue doing it without excellent knowledge of healthy singing, you will most likely lose your ability to sing over time. Been there myself. But I also understand the stupid reflex of some people to think "vocal lessons will water down my unique style and intuitive talent". Been there myself. Good luck😊
