There's no doubt that 100 Super National was the premium 2 stroke class. Well done for resurrecting the class. I used to race 100 UK back in the 90s at Shenington and I can remember vividly the first time I saw the 100 Supers. I was standing at Wilkins with my Dad and the 100 Supers came into the corner 2 or 3 a breast on those sticky Vega tyres....making grunting noises as they fought for grip. I remember some of the drivers such as Gary Moynihan ( number 22 on a Tecno/Rotax), Gary Chapman ( number 3) , Jeanette Peake ( number 26), David Homer, Biff Harris, Paul Ozane and more. They were so fast and close and the noise was incredible. I turned to my Dad with a big smile and I think I probably swore. Well done again.
we used to race them in Argentina too, my dad was a race engine builder and we would go to the races every other weekend, great sounding amd fun racing. Then came the IAME and Rotax championships. We had 100cc direct drive, 125 5 speed minarelli based motors, and a 175cc 4 speed. Now only the Rotax and dirt track karts are left.
Back in the late 70's/early 80's I used to race karts. I has 2 Swiss Hutless chassis. 1 for 100 national running a Parilla SS20 that had been T ported, the other ran in 100 International with a Parilla TT22 the had been 7 ported. I used to race mainly in Scotland but occasionally ventured over the border to Felton, Rowrah, Morecombe and a few times to what is now called PE (developed by a very famous baker).
