I was at 17 years old in 1967 out at Philmont Boy Scout Camp in New Mexico and found out I was allergic to the iodine tables for our water and my neck puffed up like a puffer fish. So I had to use the old Halazoine pills and within less than 24 hours my neck went back to normal. I was scared out of my mind they were going to Evacuated me. We had like 4 days left of enjoying the great outdoors and than my boots blew out so I finished the hiking and camping in tennis shoes. It was great time.

Interesting video, I guess once the water is boiled and the pathogens have been killed, you could take a filter and pour it into another container to get rid off all that ash and dirt and stuff.

Pro-tip: rubberband the bandanna around the lid before you dip your water. You can harvest and filter particulates in one go.

Just a suggestion, maybe it would be best if you'd drink the water that you boiled. To prove that you really do drink what you boiled. Just my two cents. Good video though to boil water.

Hahaha what would that add? Would watching a man drink water on camera push you over your skepticism on whether or not boiling water kills microbes? Like if he doesn't then the vote is still out? Do you also want him to sit on camera for 48 hrs to prove he doesn't get diarrhea?

“For your initial filtering, why not pick up a bank bag. It is a heavy duty canvas bag that the banks ship coins in. You may be able to get one from your bank, but you can buy them on Amazon. Just use the bag to get water from a stream or lake, then hang it up, let the water trickle out of it the bottom corners into a second container. This gets rid of the leaves, bugs and m

Always use a filter that takes out bacteria before boiling, especially if you're on or have just been on antibiotics. Bacterial spores are insensitive to boiling, and water 'purification' tabs. The acids in the stomach revive these spores and they start colonizing the intestines rapidly as there are no competitors, in most cases leading to very severe diarrhea, which is very bad in a survival situation. As for boiling water in a coffee can, that bpa lined stuff is BAD guys. It's not designed to be heated to that extent and starts giving off nasties to your water. Best bet would be to burn the coating off in the fire and wash it again before using it to prepare food or drinks.

A great way to filter the dirty water after boiling is to find a plastic bottle and stuff it full of paper towel or a t shirt/ sock if that’s all you have. You can melt holes in the bottom of the bottle and pour dirty water through it it. I prefer t shirt or sock as it is reusable but paper towel works so well it’s incredible

While water will rarely be crystal clear as in your will have tannins in the water from leaves, roots, ect. But turbidity in the water can be harmful, not only can bacteria essentially escape the heat by hiding in the debri it can also irritate the bowels causing diarrhea. Taking that extra step of filtering your water through ideally a mil bank bag can save you alot of lost valuable water in the long term. Milbank bags weight next to nothing and can be carried in your pocket easily. No excuse not to have one.

Im sure the electricution process alone burnt some body fat. Its always good to have some body fat reserved just in case one were to get electicuted or struck by lightning. I believe that your recent weight gain is due to your body's own self defense mechanism, just in case you were ever to get electricuted again. Another thing. Yoga enthusiasm, i noticed when you do your pushups off yor palms, you are more on the pinky side of the hand. In yoga, they teach spreading the fingers as wide as possible and pressing mostly with the knuckles of the pointer finger, the minger and the ring finger. It takes the pressure off the wrists. Just a little tip from someone who had completed many a yoga session.

@danielkaranja7978
@danielkaranja7978 4 года назад
The two methods are complementary since they solve different problems in water purification. Filtration only removes physical particulates that are larger than the mesh. It doesn't kill/remove microbes that are smaller than the mesh. So ideally ,it is best til filter the water and then boil it. That way, you have the best of both solutions.
