Mike Holt recognizing the detail of his tie and correcting is a great example why he is so good at his job. Details details details.

Ever since I started my journey in this industry "1997" Mike and his team made learning much easier to understand and make me more money than I thought I could ever make. Big thank you to Mike and team.

Wish the NEC would just make it mandatory to install a ground wire inside of every metal conduit, race way, trough , wire mold etc to provide a much more reliable ground. Too manner times I have seen EMT conduit without a ground wire pull out of a connector. Same thing with sealtite & greenfield. Have seen water leaking for awhile onto a conduit causing it to rust thru. In my area they stopped allowing inferior type AC ( YEA BX ) in most commercial buildings over 35 years ago. Have to use type MC cab!e. Last time that I did not run a ground wire in EMT or metal rigid conduit was probably 50 years ago. Better safe then dead.

And your suggestion would serve no value. Please watch my video MikeHolt.com/Fundamentals. Then you'll understand.

IF you have legitimately used a larger conductor to compensate for voltage drop you can do several things that you already covered. My question is there such a thing as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory listed and labeled wire gauge reducer which will provide the smaller diameter without compromising the connection?

Did the "haircut" change get added to the 2023 code?

What if I am installing 3 LED Pole Lights which Needs Just NO 12 AWG and I Pulled Nu 8AWG What Scientific reason Yall Will Give me that it will affect the Wire, Plus You are Not Shaving the entire Length only less than an inch. I think Its Not Workmanship to shave wire but if its bigger than needed I don't see any Practical Problem.

What is your question?

@ Mike, you and your team should create better visual aids to represent the term/s or concepts you are trying to explain. I'm a future electrician helper with dyslexia and dyscalculia. Thank you in advance.

Please let me know of a video that provides better visual aids that explain NEC 90.1. Thanks.

As far as we are concerned if the NEC genuinely cared they would GFI the entire service main.

That is permitted (215.9), but nobody would be that stupid to turn off the power to the entire house because of a simple fault on a branch circuit.

What if someone was revived 2 minutes after being electrocuted. They could be watching this video. 😋
