Thanks Roman . What I find really wonderful is your are applying this technique for musical purposes. Thanks for sharing the wonder of Brazilian music .
I think this is legitimately the next evolution in drumset playing. Sure push/pull has been around since buddy rich, but this is the only other time I've seen it used in a musical way. I think because of this scamdemic, a lot of players playing alone. This will allow multiple voices and a drummer to play musically while playing alone. excellent stuff
Normally when I see “basics” in a video, I always expect it to be short, but I’m glad this one wasn’t! There’s a lot of amazing stuff in here. Obrigado, Ramon! 🤙🙏 Abraços do Toronto, Maestro!🙏
This is amazing! Thanks for sharing the knowledge! I’ve been trying to get my head around push pull for the last 6 months after being a drummer for the last 30 years.. hard to teach an old dog new tricks 😜
Very cool! I'll definitely have to start practicing this. Although I am wondering if your thumb eventually hurts with this technique? Thanks and take care!
30:09 to 31:50 though! Those 10 to 12 note one handed blasts are awesome. I'm just starting out on push pull and it is HARD for me, especially my weak left hand doesn't seem to have the basic form down to really hit and catch with control. My right hand is a bit better
is there an issue with sound with this video? I put my volume up super high and can still barely hear a thing, at normal volumes, silence. Other videos on YT, including Ramon's others, play fine.
Thanks for your response! I see it as you put it, too. It seems that the speed at which he does the push/pull uses a lot of his thumb, and so leaning towards the french also seems to allow for that. @@mapache_del_sur
