Madness! Dope lesson, I did a false-shuffle series last year but never taught this outside of my Masterclass. This is the perfect lesson for me to send people to, fanx Alex.
Dude your false shuffle series is insane! I have all your stuff through the Malliance and it'll take me years to master most of that stuff. You and Alex are some of the best card handlers I have seen.

Hello, I just discovered your talent... 💪💪👍👍. I'm 72 and have been walking around with a deck of cards ever since... My wife thinks I'm weird 😂😂 So I train, luckily there is the translation on RU-vid.. I'm in the south of France (Cannes) long live retirement THANK YOU Didier
I've always used the zarrow. I've always had trouble with the push through, but ever since watching your tutorial, I've found it much easier to execute
When doing the push trough I don’t recommend using a bed of cards from the right hand (the bed should be on the side where the top packet is so that when stripping it out it looks like a under cut), also when stripping the cards out try to hide that the packets are coming from the other packets by putting your finger in front (if that make sense). Also for the up the ladder I recommend keeping the sequence short and try to hide as much as possible the steps packets because like this it make look more like a real strip. These advice will make the shuffle more convincing. But it’s still an amazing tutorial to start with this false shuffle.
What is going on? I'm being tracked...I just put my deck down after practicing some false shuffle and cuts and made a note to learn more and then this came up! Many happy returns btw!
I’ve been waiting to see the green deck in action and it’s beautiful!! Plus, the tutorial is super useful- how’d you know exactly what I was practicing today?
Beginners should pay attention to the very light touch Alex has with the cards, there's hardly any pressure involved. One of those moves that the harder you try, the more resistance the cards offer back, and the more difficult it becomes. The same is true of in-the-hands false riffle shuffles and lots of other sleights as well - the riffle fan, for example, requires so little pressure you'll probably drop the cards a few dozen times until you find the bare minimum amount!
Excellent tutorial Alex ! Clearly explained step-by-step together with many very helpful presentation hints and tips. Never prompted to review usually, however this was so good felt compelled to do so - you have a great ‘style’ in your teaching. Thanks 🙏
I feel very Blessed to be able to learn from your youtube lessons. Thanks for helping everyone get the tools and knowledge that our parents refused us as children. and not just you all the magicians who took to teaching single moves online, you've helped me achieve a life long dream. I always wanted to do magic because i wanted to give the feelings i felt of amazement back to everyone. Thanks once again NOCs 4 Life... ooooo that sounds good pink cancer cards idk man great lesson Nocs for Life Anit- Abortion cards XD.... alright c ya
Happy birthday! I know you have birthday tommorow, but I'm already wishing 😉🍰. This shuffle looks great. Thank you Alex. I love learning from you. Ps.These decks look amazing.
It took me awhile to understand the Up The Ladder. Wish you made this video earlier. This is one of the best explanation. 2 years ago, I was practicing this very routine with a new deck of cards that belonged to a friend. All the while explaining about the different types of playing cards and their usages. Before I knew it, I had an audience of 7 people listening to me while I was doing a false shuffle. When I ribbon spread the deck showing that it's still in new deck order, my audience was impressed. That was my first unofficial magic performance. It was fun. 😘
recommendation 1: show an example of the shuffle being false ie sorted deck staying sorted... oops forgot that... rec 2: card backs that are effectively mirrors are sus
The push through false shuffle, such a powerful move, I've been working on my PULL through but they almost have the same mechanics. Not sure if you're gonna post tomorrow so, happy (early) come out of your mum day Alex!
I enjoyed this and have watched many times. However, I don't understand the idea of moving middle fingers to the sides of deck, and placing index fingers on top, thereby leaving the front so visible. Doesn't this expose the move much more than need be? It does certainly look as if there in nothing to hide. I keep my index and middle fingers in front to hide, and do the move pushing with my ring fingers. I went to watch a video of Daniel Roy doing push through shuffles. He seems to keep his index and middle fingers in front also. The idea to rapidly slide the deck forward and back while making the push through move - doesn't this draw attention and look suspicious?
I dont understand why RU-vidr magicians continue to reveal methods that help create good card magic. This stuff is in books and taught way better that that way. I don’t understand
Well as a magician who grew up in Northern Canada with the nearest magic shop 1000 miles away, I respectfully disagree. Figuring stuff out from library books and seeing magicians on TV, learning any card trick you see, nobody to ask questions of, no teaching or mentoring.... Have you noticed that sleight of hand has made a quantum leap in the last ten years ? Guys like Shin Lim, Eric Chien , Jeki Yoo and Mario Lopez ? Those boys didn't learn their magic from the GW Carlson school library. Just wait another 10 years... it'll be awesome
Yes. I don't understand his idea of moving middle fingers to the sides of deck, and placing index fingers on top, thereby leaving the front so visible. Doesn't this expose the move much more than need be? It does certainly look as if there in nothing to hide. But I learned to keep my index and middle fingers in front to hide, and do the move pushing with my ring fingers. The idea to slide the deck forward and back while making the push through move surely will draw attention and look suspicious.
Who the hell would be fooled by this lol, obviously something fishy going on if you're shuffling then taking all the cards and putting them back on top
