I think all manufacturers should at least be required to have the option of a manual key and tumbler. But I think the push start systems are too unreliable. Not just the key itself, but the actual starting system. Not to mention they’re way too easy to steal. I like the good old days of a key, tumbler, and immobilizer.
I know I need to replace the battery but didn't realize how time just flew by so fast! Now battery is dead and nothing response. I'm in a panic mode but panic button is useless too and I feel like I'm falling apart. Had to take a deep breath for a few and search youtube and found this video which saved me. Thank you!!!
Thanks bro. Just fixed my neighbors car. Even though my fix wasn’t none of the issues pointed out it helped me trouble shoot and worked out. Appreciate it!!!!!! You earned a new sub!
This worked for me. I had a half a tank, parked at walgreens, wouldn't start just would lock the brakes. I did this trick after watching and it worked!!! Thank u!!
Thank you so much for this video it really helped my key fob must be bad because i tried a new battery and that didnt work. i tried your technique it worked. Ill need to get another key fob now
Great work JT, appreciate how you went through your thought process, shared this process. I feel this is very important for the DIY’er. But I must admit this is not an easy thing for all mechanics to do behind a camera. Not everyone has this skill. I appreciate how it seems to come easy to you. Hell I don’t even own a dodge (yet) but I do appreciate good work so I will definitely tune in for more!! Thanks again. Take care.
I really hope you reply beacuse your the first person I've seen do this to a journey. I have a 2015 dodge journey ( bought it a year ago) during the first couple months my first key fob went out so I had a lock Smith make another one since then I haven't had a problem. Today I went to run to the store and it wouldn't stay ( key fob not detected showed up on dash) pulled the keys out of my pocket and tried again same thing, pushed the start button with the fob and same thing. Then the dash stared bugging out, lights started flickering, gas and speedo needles went up and down a few times the door sensor started digging as if the door was open, and there was a clicking/thumping noise coming from under the hood. This was all happening while I was sitting in the car touching absolutely nothing. Any idea what it may be?
It’s 11:15 PM on Wednesday evening. All I can say is Ty, Ty,and Ty. After watching so many videos and reading so many chats, Iand trying everything they suggested, I was finally able to not only open my doors but also start my engine for the first time in over a week. By you showing repeatedly how to change the battery which I had already replaced, but still not working, I was able to take a screen shot of the actual battery and the small wire that was touching the battery. Mine wasn’t. As soon as I did that everything worked as normal again. Thank you for saving me $110 an hour that the mechanic was going to charge me to figure out what was wrong with my starter. Thumbs up for helping people like me with very little extra money. May you be blessed and continue to grow your business online.
You could always just hit stop button and move on to the next miracle video out there. News flash, theres not any. Take a chill pill and listen to how the system work and what you may need. Impatient ass got key problems and you fussing with somebody thats trying to help..FOH
So when should you replace the RHF? THE dealer made me replace the RHF THEN THE KEY PUSH START. Brand new truck still under warranty and still had to pay a grip to fix the issue. The key fob would start the truck but I couldn't start it with the button at all.
Doesn't work. Just says Push Button with Key Fob to Start. Car battery died, got it replaced, and still no start. But it WILL start in remote start. It just won't change modes to drive. Dealership says they've never seen anything like it before. It's supposedly impossible. Can't happen. But here we are. totally fucked.
Up to my eyes with frustration. 2010 KIA Optima has been in shop over and over. Now, no crack, no start whatsoever. Used your fab to button the last year, worked, now nothing. Changed batteries twice, big battery once, spent so much money, now wanting more money. Please help please.
Thank you very much you just save me a lot of money. I couldn't figure out why the car couldn't start. I was bout to call ubber and a tow truck and I just youtube how to start a push start car and I came directly to your video. Man I appreciate it very much, this video was very helpful

My ford figo car is not starting and showing the lock symbol at mostly night time ...some times after 8 pm to next day till 9:30 am . after that its starting automatically. Pls help me with this issue
Let me see if I understand this my fob work pretty good but every now and then it was say no fob detected and had to use the fob to push start my car I changed my battery and still only worked the same way so now I will have to have a new fob made? Will I need a program tool also?
JT I have a 2018 XF Jaguar, I look outside and my rear lights were on and my keys don't work to open the door. I don't know why the lights came on. I last drove the car two weeks ago without any problems. What do I do or can you help.
Hey my friend, this a 2018 model. The complete system controlled by a computer. A scan tool that can read those module will def be needed to diagnose such problems. This not really a DIY job
The keys made by chrysler are just total crap. They cheapen out of pretty much everything. Im on my 3rd key now getting an aftermarket vs overpriced crap from the dealership. Replacing key and cleaning them just doesnt cut it anymore 😅. Even all that tricks you learn from youtube. Best advice is avoid anything chrysler related brand.
Well I noticed on the new key it didn't have the picture of the remote start, did you add that on their after the video was over, or did it just not hove one one it?
Thank you for this video Sir. I was ready to have my car towed to a shop. Thought it was the alternator or starter gone bad. This trick right here.. Started right up.
Hey bud, We use a interface which plugs into the data link connecter and from there, a program on the laptop is use to displace the data and perform diagnostics similar to using a scan tool
Wow! You are an impressive guy! ....had a trouble code and a dead main battery in my '13 Elantra, cleared the trouble code and now my fob won't work. Satellite will start it, and then shuts off and says Goodbye when I get in. LOL UGH. I'm going outside now at Midnight to try pushing the start button with the fob!
hello, is it mandatory to have the pin code to program the key ? who can give it to me ? I am outside USA. also. Can I reprogram a used key coming from another dodge ? as I have only one key right now. thank you so much
Hey bud the way we program keys at the dealer we use our scan tool and the security code from your vin. You likely will not be able to do this yourself..sorry
and what if doing that the acc light on the push start button just flashes and the journey still says key fob not detected, my journey has been parked in the driveway for 2 weeks now and both keys don't work and dodge thinks it "could be" a bad transmitter and that would cost me around $1000 to fix, not including the price of new keys and reprogramming.. so anyone else have this issue or getting it towed to dodge and having them scam me out of $1500 really my only option...
What if I did this and it's not the battery to the remote? Like literally the noise didn't come out or where it tells to to press on the breaks light doesn't show up. Like literally nothing comes on. I know it's not the actual vehicle batter cus the button off light shows. Can some one give me advise on this?
Hey bud, yes, in some cases that will do it. But on this car the key fob circuit board had an open circuit. In some cases you can simply just replace the batteries. Thanks for watching, please thumbs up the video and sub the channel for me, thanks
