The King of Staten Island (Pete Davidson and Judd Apatow's newest movie) was a spark of light in a bleak 2020. This video explores and explains the central theme in this semiautobiographical film based on Davidson's life: You can overcome tragedy through experiences, but you need to face your tragedy to gain those experiences.

When Steve Buscemi (who was a 9/11 firefighter in real life) started telling Pete about his dad I straight up started balling my eyes out. Fantastic movie

I liked how they end the Arc realistically. It's not a grandiose "Everything is perfect now! Scott's problems are gone!" it's more like Scott is better now, things haven't fallen into pieces yet but at least now Scott is doing something. It gives value to the small steps in the improvement process and doesn't undermine progress may it be big or small.

AND don't forget how the last scene is of Scott looking out at the scene of 9/11, showcasing the closure and peace he is starting to find surrounding Pete's actual father's death

I was ready to dislike this movie but it won me over by the end. It explored a perspective I never gave much thought to and told it in an endearing way. Also some really great performances by Tomei, Burr, Buscemi, and Davidson.

Love the idea of looking at the first and last shots of the movie :D Also, the first shot in the mirror: He's always looking back through that mirror, and not able to look at what's in front of him

yo i love the video, as a creative, id say to follow your own way of making these videos but some tips id give; background music usually works better matching the theme and tone of the film(i know its hard to find copyright free music) color grading too! it adds your own touch to the videos, can make it something to take serious. the fast cuts are great! but they remind me of watchmojo, which is fine! but theres so many channels following this template, you have the potential! dont fear trying something new! Great video! i loved this film, because a lot of his trauma and problems reminds me of my own.
