Even though the video production quality is a bit ghetto from back in the early days of YT, these vids are helping a lot of people. Just took a power torque apart, re-honed, cleaned piston, cleaned head, now waiting for rings/gasket/carb kit in the mail. Made a crank pin tool from a 21mm spark plug socket, inner crank bearing was good but came out stuck to the crankshaft, just put the whole crankshaft with the bearing attached in the freezer for 30 mins, warmed up the bearing carrier bore lightly with a blowtorch and lightly tapped it in with a rubber mallet.

to stop the engine turning to undue the mower disc remove spark plug and put some pull start cord in the cylinder , this will stop engine turning . this this guy does leave me scratching my head and im a tradie
Admire the trouble you have gone too to record this video. Best to clean every thing first before working on the mower. Should take more care when dismantling. perhaps use some WD 40 to loosen parts to make easy removal. Also, CHASIS is pronounced like: cha see. Good luck cheers
To save snapping blades off the flywheel, take a length of nylon rope and feed enough of it in in through the spark-plug hole until the engine won't turn. You can then use as much force as necessary to remove the nut holding the spinner plate on.
@@mowtoegee7049 I've used the rope trick for years, it's more of a concern with 4 strokes with ohv (might bend the valve rocker or pushrods if a valve is open). You can also use G-clamps to clamp a cut to size 2x4 to the blade carrier disc so it creates a faux bar blade so you can use the bar blade removal technique. Offset it from the centre bolt or hole saw it in the middle.
@@ceejay6882 I ended up going with the soft rag stuffed into the cylinder bore. Then pop the cylinder head back on... And turned the crank pin with a 3ft breaker bar. It came off a treat! It did leave a couple of small bits of old Tshirt in the bore but that was easy to clean :)
Gedday Mate. I love your video. So many times I get frustrated with badly made vids and people who don't know what they are doing. So well done 10/10. I have never been impressed with that plastic carbi but I guess it's like anything, once you know it, it is easy to service. I am bit of a B&S fan but probably because I was taught how to service them. I didn't know that B&S now owned Victa but I guess that's to be expected. I'm from Perth where are you? Lol I know your comment is old but I went to get 3 items from the mower shop on the weekend. And it says for each one who the parents company is. I got - Briggs and stratton 4 stroke oil (B&S Obviously) - Victa 18" mower blades (B&S) - Shindaiwa "pinion shaft" for AH230 hedge trimmer (B&S)
Easier to firstly degrease and gurnee , then take the blades off and four screws on bottom , engine comes out off main body and mount on a table for disassembly,service
How good are victors in you forts are thay built strong,I have a vex60 for not that long time can you give me your forts on them,also can you do more tips videos there verry helpfull
Hi in my opinion the Victa motors before 2000 are built well and strong, however the newer motors are from china and are not as good as the older ones, we will keep doing Victa Repair videos in the future

Victa is now owned by Briggs and Stratton and I believe the vex60 is made in china, it is still a good engine as long as it is correctly maintained and looked after, the main thing is to always use the correct oil to fuel mix and to turn the fuel off when it isnt in use this will stop the carburetor filling with stale fuel which is a common problem. the vex60 should be 160cc,
