Folks, thats my horse (Bubba), a few month late he learned to respect my space, thanks to Cody for an excelend clinic/weekend :-), regards from Germany
Thank you Udo, I was just about to contact you when I posted the video for your approval, Then i see your comment here. You have an amazing horse, what an athlete, Bubba is all HORSE Power! Danke, see you in June possibly.
@@RachaelLewis68 No it was not .. A horse will behave and act the way it's treated by the owner .. Yanking on the halter to make a horse behave or using whips is all unnecessary and not needed and abusive treatment .. I've trained and broke for 45 years and I never once used a whip or bit .. There are no problem horses but problem riders and handlers ..
It always amazes me what we can do with horses without touching them. We certainly can learn a lot from their way of being. Thank you for this informative video!
Sometimes very sensitive horse in a smaller area have to learn their ok and let that inborn self persevering flight build or if pushed to hard they can turn to defence , not understanding this and what horses are looking for our release at their right timing in Round Pens have made any such problems. I Am All For The Horse , horses only having a people problem that doesn't understand them in their world, good Luck to all Horses
Good job. You can see he’s learned this from people. He’s much more respectful on his right side than his left. That’s because most people are on his left and he has learn to be that way with him. Always something I watched very closely when working with someone’s horse. Unless he’s never been handled, they have taught him what to do. Was it good or bad. How he is on the left versus right to tattle on them.
@@temijinkahn511 I used to always get that question about kids and wives. Always said you need to start with an intelligent animal. Lol just kidding guys. But I did Always say that.
Would you free lunge a horse with this method, instead of using a lunge whip, or was this just for a horse that is pushy? My guys aren't pushy, but I liked the quietness of this method. Thank you!
This is a good question. Ultimately it wouldn’t matter if you used a rope or whip, the neighbors cat, lol. Please experiment with different things and see if you can balance the go with the follow or lead up. I have had one horse who was very scared of whips but not my rope so i was able to get the horse better about the whip doing this exercise. No, this is not only for a pushy horse, it could be for a scared or unsure horse or maybe a horse like yours to just have one more thing to strengthen the relationship. I hope this helps you.
The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.-Albert Einstein. As good as he is with horses, I don’t think the swamp dwellers in Washington would learn a thing.
The invisible rope or the real one? Haaaaa. I like cotton ropes but if your doing a lot of roping horses then the nylon are easy on the horses hide. Search google; King Ropes 50-60ft Xxx soft nylon Buckaroo Business 50-60ft waxed cotton (more you use it the better they get and last a really long time. buckaroobusinesses.com/?s=Ropes “3:10 Ranch Ropes” as well 310ranchlife.com/pages/collection-test
@@Deering777 that video where you manipulated the use of your rope without ever touching the horse was pretty fascinating. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. !!

I can understand how you would say that for sure. The horse was thinking on many things,, past experiences and the current expectations. One way of many approaches that could of been taken. More of an example , not a how too video. Thanks.
Your Statement must be ironic Caroline. Otherwise don't eduacate horses, sorry. Space and pressure are the basics for groundwork, not understanding the process will cause unwanted und unexpected behaviour from the horse...thanks to cody for that lesson. 👍👍👍
If one knows how to read a horse, this appears that Cody is very much in control. The horse is responding how Cody intends. Thank you, Mr. Deering. You are one of my faves.
