Always loved this song. Never thought I would've lived it. I was in a domestic violence relationship and when he had tried to kill me I got him arrested and stuck with my statement so he got jail. Main reason was I had to show my daughter's that no way should they put up with that. If I didn't they would think it's ok to live like that because mammy did. So glad I stayed strong and stuck through as I've never been happier, just me and my girls.
Not always that simple. Plus some can't walk away because they will get beat to death litrally for leaving. Some hunt the woman down too when they move on. Men like this are dangerous

Clearly has no clue! I fought back and got beaten more for it! He was 6’3 im 5’2 so didnt stand a chance! They get in your head, make you feel worthless and dependant on them, tell you no one will want you, withold money but theyre also so sorry for it and swear it will never happen again. I was stuck in this circle for 8yrs, this song was a support to me. It may have took 8yrs but I escaped the day he started on my kids, he got away with smashing up my home, make up, clothes and beating me, giving black eyes, broken jaw etc but I wasnt going to let that happen to my kids! Oh and im no fool!!!
