I always took excellent care of the bosses equipment. Back in 1979 had a 4640 fwa And an 8630 were the big boys Also had a 4430, 4230 loader tractor and the pride of the fleet a 4320. No matter what I ran it was cleaned and checked over daily. The least you can do for the boss. Good equipment, good care.

I used to smoke for a good number of years then I bought a newer truck and didn't want to stink it up so I quit cold turkey and it's been over a year. But anyone I worked for or was with out of respect I didn't smoke in anything. As weird as it sounded even tho I smoked I hated the smell it left. But I still chew, one bad habit at a time 😂

JD went 40 years with frames that had matching bolt holes for equipment mounts, but the New crop of genius engineers don't have a clue about keeping older blades, etc to use on new stuff. Very intelligent dumb people. Great video, again!
@SocietyIsDoomed
@SocietyIsDoomed 6 месяцев назад
They do that on purpose. They don't make any money selling a new blade if you can just use your old one.
@MorganOtt-ne1qj
@MorganOtt-ne1qj 6 месяцев назад
@@SocietyIsDoomed The blades are aftermarket, as are many other frame mounted attachments, except loaders. It's really just a lack of understanding WHAT they are designing and HOW it is going to be used. I really doubt if many engineers even turn the wheel of what they design, let alone do a full service on it.

Since we’re looking at forks, can you do me a favor and check the heels for wear particularly on the old lift. The fork thickness just after the 90 degree bend should be no less than 90 percent of what the vertical thickness measurement is up by the carriage. Using metric measurements is easier. I’m Guessing that fork is 60mm thick x 150mm wide. (6,000? lb. Truck) If the fork is only 53mm right after the bend where the heel meets the floor, they are worn out and should be changed. Technically torching holes in the tips is a no no too, but I’ve never seen a farm forklift that didn’t have them… Carry on Andy, Great show!! Thanks!
