It takes a big man to admit when they are wrong. Many people have made mistakes with pets, and I admire you that you realized your mistake and rehomed your pup while he was still young and able to be adopted by another family. Since you never raised a puppy, you didn't know what you didn't know. They are a lot of work and way more needy than a cat.

Eric, I put the same exact fridge in my camper 2 months ago and it works great. One thing, it does have a defrost cycle that runs 175 watts and uses 7 ah when it runs. One trick I found was if I shut it off for 1 minute at around 6-630 am that by noon time, the defrost cycle runs then so you don’t have to waste any battery overnight to defrost it. Second thing, don’t run it warmer than mid way on then adjustment for the temperature, keeps the fridge from 38 to 43 and the freezer at -5 to 2 degrees. Good luck with it and thanks for the great videos!
@jerryparker3446
@jerryparker3446 Год назад
Is that 7ah with defrosting or while running? I’m curious about the draw while cooling and how much of the day it actually runs. Sounds like a great fridge.
@Jim.D
@Jim.D Год назад
@@jerryparker3446 it typically uses 30 ah overnight (with my 90+ efficient inverter) but use’s about 37ah if a defrost cycle occurs, that is for an average night lasting 11 hours. That is why I learned the trick that forced a defrost cycle 6 hours after a power event.
@steves3688
@steves3688 Год назад
@@Jim.D So do you just use 120v timer for the off and on shutoff?
@Jim.D
@Jim.D Год назад
@@steves3688 I did at first but my idle usage doubled from 7 watts to 14 watts. Now when I wake up, I just shut off my inverter for a minute, done. Remember, this is not foolproof and at times when the fridge runs for longer periods of time when the outside temperature is excessive you may have a defrost cycle run overnight, but don’t worry, just power cycle it for a minute in the morning and it should return to the “ no defrost “ overnight again, but on those days usually you have enough power to spare.

Eric I hope you're hanging in there. Be kind to yourself... you did what was best for you, Tig and the kitties. Be proud of the decision you made... it was a brave one. I have tried many rescue pups and I couldn't do it either. I'm perfectly happy being the auntie to pups that I meet along the way on the road. It gives me my dog time and yet... there's no pressure to be the sole owner of a dog (for now until the time is right). Be well Tig... and I'm happy to hear that you found him a great new home !

Eric, when you run the Window A/C you can put a 20" Box fan, from Walmart in front of the unit and let it blow away from the A/C. It will keep the compress from cutting off and on so much, and increase the amount of area you can cool. We do this all the time and we can cool twice the amount of area. Good luck my friend 🙂

Eric: many years ago, we brought a Yorkie puppy into our home. However, my wife and I worked long hours, and we eventually re-homed Kirby with my in-laws. One: we made a mistake, and everyone does. And two, we rectified our mistake by finding a good home.....just like you did. You admitted your mistake; now give yourself the same mercy you would give a friend. Safe travels.

Eric, you gotta understand we've got to have rain In order to live, the animals the plants. I mean, it's something you've got to accept. We tend to forget the wildlife Because here we are in our homes comfortably with bottled water And it's like I'm fine, so your mind doesn't take you to wait a minute There's other creatures that need to have water To sustain life, and that's from the rain, They can't go in a store and get a couple 24 packs of water to take with them They rely on what comes from the sky. Yes, flooding is not good and I know That's a major problem These days, but we still need the rain. I know you know all this but you've got to remind yourself of the big picture Rain is life.

I liked this content better when it was just Eric and Jax exploring the country, more time smelling the roses so to speak.

I've already made up my mind that I will never again have a pet. Not even a hamster. You only had a tiny 3 foot square area for Tig to romp in. You often need to drive long stretches which isn't good for a dog. So much more I could add but you absolutely did the right thing. Tig will always be loved by us viewers. Blessings friend.

Hey, don't listen to the haters over on Instagram anywhere else. You found a good home for Tig I don't see a problem with it at all. House training a dog in a house with a backyard can be a nightmare. Had a dog once could not get him to stop marking everything. He would use the dog door go outside he just had a bad habit of leg lifting marking everything. We had him trained professional trainers said this dog is a high energy 30 lbs Rat Terrier they were bred for catching rats on a farm dogs kept outside. We just held off on remodeling our home because he would just ruin it. He passed after 16 years last year now we are in the process of gutting the inside. I still miss him he was such a smart and loving dog as soon as you turned away, he left the leg give something a squirt.

It's OK, Eric. I admit that I am a little touchy about this subject, because I myself was an unwanted child thrown up for adoption. Also, for years I volunteered at animal shelters and watched dogs get dumped and euthanized. But this is not the same thing. You found Tig a loving home. And I know you did not make this decision lightly. Everybody makes bad judgment calls or plunges into things that maybe they should not. Take me. I keep adopting older supersmart, superneedy German Shepherd rescues for 20 years now, I don't really deserve them, don't feel good enough for these class acts, am far from an expert trainer, just try to be a loving mother, and sometimes I think I am going to barely make it, but I do - then again, I haven't had kitties since the turn of the century. I am just grateful that you made sure Tig had a good home - you did not dump him at a pound or even a shelter or throw him in a ditch on the side of the road. Think of it as fostering a puppy until the baby found a loving home. You did fine. So ease your mind, move on. Tara and Opie are waiting for belly rubs 🙂

in my opinion the tig decision was, without a doubt, the most mature and selfless decision you could have possibly made. what a blessing tig had you in his life because most people would not have given tig his best life and you did the right thing for tig. back when i was 53 i got a new puppy. i was struggling to train the puppy so i entered a puppy training class with her. on the first day the teacher asked us to state what our puppy had taught us. each one of us made those typical sweetness and light comments. it was all about rainbows, smelling the roses, etc. etc. when it was my turn i stated, "my puppy has taught me that a 53 year old woman needed to adopt a 53 year old dog." admiring you from afar, keep on being true to yourself.

Save any harsh comments for your neighbor or person down your street with a dog left on a chain and forgot about.

I had a Trailer Type Camper. I was sitting there 1 day and My Fridge sprang a leak. It was too expensive, so I put a Dorm Fridge instead.

Did you goto the Dispo without me? SEAL THEM GAPS BROTHER. Stuff insulation all around the fridge to keep the heat out of the cabin of the RV.

I installed the exact same fridge in my RV when the stock one died. It has worked well for about 10 years now.

Are you going to hock up to the grid? What would you do if there was 2 or 3 weeks of cloudy weather. Or are you going to get a good external generator? You could really end up in a pickle.

Frig looks great. What I didn’t see is a salad mix. Fresh vegetables. Fresh fruits. I know they are on your groceries list. Keep in mind Fresh is Best!!

Eric I would highly recommend you putting the foam insulation around your gas line so that it does not accidentally rubbed with refrigerant line with the refrigerant line touching the gas line they could rub together and leak or caused a spark best to wrap the gas line in a foam insulated line wrap and keep them separated. I say this with the highest concern of recommendation take care and enjoy the new fridge

Love my Vissani in my toy-hauler ... been enduring the road-life since 2015(EVEN tho the instruction book said NOT to USE in RV's! ) Runs well on my Jackery 1000( boosted by Bouge 40W solar panel on the roof) ...as I'm running down the road /boondocking! Should be a keeper!

I hope you insulated the hell out of the cavity and closing it in tight before installing the new fridge. It's not like you want to take that in and out often.
