This is why unless the dog is OBVIOUSLY predominantly a certain breed, shelters should just use “____ Mix”. Retriever Mix, Hound Mix, Bully Mix, Shepherd Mix, Terrier Mix, Chihuahua Mix, etc. that means that the dog is most like part of that group of breeds. That’ll be your best guess. And if I had my own shelter, I’d also have a group named “SURPRISE Mix” for those dogs that you have no idea about 🤣
True - I just got a dnamydog test and awaiting results. I have a Pit Mix. What the mix is would be GREAT to know! I chose this brand because they combine an age panel which I find the most important. I really want to know! Everyone says 7 years but after seeing her teeth (amount of tartar) and clarity of the eyes, I'm thinking 5.
I adopted my dog from a rescue when he was 8 weeks old and all they told me was that he was a Chow mix. I wish they had told me how stubborn and jealous and aggressive he would turn out to be and that he hates people and animals. I had to find all that out the hard way.😳🙄 He's been with me 18 years now. He's terrorized and scared off several family members and friends 😆 but he's my baby and I love him. ❤
@@houses4rent8240 - oh my!!! I understand. My doggie was and us super mellow & sweet as can be. I can’t believe she was in the shelter for 7 months! I love her sooooo much:)
I was certain of the poodle when he described his dog's personality, because the 'almost human' is how I always hear poodle owners describe their dogs.
DNA My Dog was completely off with its analysis of my dog. Embark was atleast in the same vicinity of the most obvious main breeds she is; which is shepard mixed with pitbull.
I just bought an embark so I hope it's accurate. My dog is 18 going on 19 year old Chow mix which is typically unheard of for a Chow's lifespan. I'm wondering if he has any Australian sheepdog in him. They can live to be 24. It would certainly explain his longevity. We'll see.
@@christianjandacuma6175 Thanks for checking on me. It turns out my dog is 50% Chow mixed with Cocker Spaniel German Shephard Huskey and some wolf which explains his very territorial aggressive side. Sadly he passed away from old age on Jan 5, 2021. I highly recommend this DNA test and would like very much to know how the test results of your dog came out. Take care.
i knew it!! i guessed poodle an terrior which french bull dogs can have terrior too. and the poodle bc the posture an hight qith wirrery fur made most sence since ive had poodle mixs before .. love this im getting a test for my furbaby!!
Stolley looks like a Border terrier mix. Or some Schnauzer. Wheaten terrier seems likely too. Then moving away from the obvious breeds that could make him wire-haired. Is a Labrador retriever or Staffordshire terrier. But that's just my guess.
So if I have a dog that is a mix of 2 breeds and visually and behaviorally shows traits, as far as I can tell, predominately those 2 breeds, is there a good chance she has small percentages of other breeds as well? I assume this to be true now adays because of all the Interbreeding.
