@@MetzTech The good news is that Tesla had acknowledged that it's too slow, and has stated it'll be speeded up in future versions.

You aren’t alone there! They have already increased the speed in 12.4!

FSD cannot back up either. After almost 4 years in beta, FSD cannot put the car in reverse.

I'm curious exactly how you think FSD *backs into* a parking spot if it can't "put the car in reverse". Sounds like you're just making stuff up to support your position, without *any* regard of whether or not it's true. One way or another, you seem to be losing it.

With the new update too it’s noticeably faster

Maybe select the spot before you drive past it. The car will indicate as it drives forward getting ready to revers. No?

If you select the parking spot ahead of you it does put the turn signal on but because it pulls the Tesla about 10-15 foot forward past the parking spot I still think the car behind you will swipe right in the parking spot because they might think you’re going ahead. Normally if you park by backing in you turn pretty much right in the parking spot to back in to it so it gives no room for another car to swoop right in. You know how majority of drivers are aggressive for parking spots!! Lol

It’s getting a lot faster. It switches from drive to reverse a lot faster now and I don’t even have 12.4.1 yet

You know the grind never stops ;) I agree, it almost always takes longer than if I were to do it myself, but I'm sure that will improve and for others that may struggle with parking, that accuracy may be the safer option! Thanks for watching

FSD has had that feature in the past, and it's planned for one of the next two releases of FSD, 12.4 or 12.5, I don't recall which.

@@BigBen621 FSD/Autopark are *incomplete* if they cannot do simple everyday things: pull into a diagonal parking spot pull straight into a parking spot read a sign: DO NOT ENTER avoid a pothole or broken glass slow down for a speed bump every time react to Police or Firetrucks w/sirens What a shame .

I’ve used it probably close to 80 times and haven’t had a single issue. Not saying it’s impossible but seems pretty unlikely

Sure hope so! I’ll say this, I didn’t get in a situation to show it in this video but I have had a busy grocery parking lot where it waited for people & their carts both in the front and back. Handled it perfectly

@@DerekDavis213 Human drivers back in every time they charge at a Tesla Supercharger, so while perhaps it's not amazing, it's certainly useful.

I have EAP on my 2021 model Y long range. I live in Sweden and we have a very old software for autopilot and FSD but they have included the same functionality for the auto park feature. I think the results in the video are in line with mine.

The point is that eventually it will be able to park itself and recall itself. So it needs to be able to do it in all scenarios. Your run of the mill self parking system requires way too many variables that make it difficult to use

1. Because why not? There is no logical reason why system which can auto park with cars around you should not be able to do it when there is none. Just makes no sense. Maybe 99.9999% of people will not use this system when parking lot is empty, but why would system not work in those situations as optional thing? 2. You would be surprised how many people are out there who can drive decently well on the roads but can't really park their cars

I can bet that tesla recognizes those spots and simply doesn't allow to auto park there, currently. Duno why it would be the case, but car needs to recognize diagonal spots to know that those need to be rejected for time being.

@@BigBen621 Less than *one* *percent* of cars in America are Teslas. FSD is years behind schedule, and is a basic Level 2 assistant that frequently makes mistakes. A human must *supervise* at all times. There are huge parking lots full of unsold Tessla vehicles .

In specific prescanned and preprogrammed parking lots?... What's special about it? Theses systems are not comparable, as one works in all parking lots, the other works on specific ones which have been prescanned and preplanned

Tesla just updated AutoPark to work in smaller spaces just yesterday

@@MetzTech BMW system looks like it’s better than all those non Tesla you tried . It parks perfectly each time but not as intuitive as Tesla to get it to start

Same thing could be applied to emergency breaking if you tried to compare to automatic ones, half of the drivers would be disqualified automatically. Its a good feature as an option when you need it for one or the other reason
