I like the idea of having seminarians assist and witness to Catholic students. I assure you, it will be more rewarding for the seminarian and strengthen their own faith and formation.

How will you convince the Bishops of this?? Catholic schools are our hope to teach children AND their parents about our path to SALVATION. Thank you . Let's ALL pray and sacrifice especially this Lent for the saving of our Catholic schools and our Catholic children.

You forgot an important one, how about admitting practicing Catholics over lukewarm and non Catholics students? Lukewarm catholics and non-catholics students take up the place of practicing Catholics. If someone joins a parish their school should automatically except them. Also the lukewarm and non Catholics' parents complain and control the schools. Do you have a place in your schools for ALL catholics students regardless of their disabilities? Many Catholics are force to go to public schools because the Catholic schools refused to deal with their individual challenge. Catholic schools should have a place for all Catholic children.

This would be amazing! He’s so right. Unfortunately I discovered late the reality of Catholic schools in our area. Until I see real changes, I would only recommend homeschooling.

Mr. Carroll, please take action to backup your comments. You have identified the problems. Please use your leadership position to help correct the problems. Please start by giving health decisions back to parents. Let the parent decide if his or her child should wear a face mask all day (as written in your August 6, 2021 statement). Your statement changed dramatically two weeks later, right before the school year began, to making a universal decision about mandatory covering children’s face all day. That was a dramatic switch. We understand your goal is to keep schools open, but we are way past that. Closing schools was a big mistake. We need to move past that even as an option. We need normalcy for our children. We need to not teach fear and not let them think they are germ vessels. We need to let them breathe clean air. We need to let them see face expressions of their peers and their teachers. They learn speech and communication/social skills from face expressions. Covering faces takes away our humanity. As far as the curriculum in schools, again, you are correct. Religion should be woven into the school day, not one subject. Please stop books like All American Boys, Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Persepolis, Between the Works and Me from being read in our Catholic Schools. Let’s focus on the classics like A Man for all Seasons, Tale of Two Cities, Song of Roland, Hamlet, Treasure Island, Robin Hood, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Augustine’s Confessions. The list of classics could go on and on. Our children’s minds need to be exposed to truth and beauty. This will lead them to God. Let’s have students read the Bible. And, please, prolife lessons to protect the unborn, sick and elderly should be woven into the fabric of each school. As you know, If we want children to learn equity and diversity, that starts by teaching them to protect children in the womb, and to protect vulnerable mothers and fathers from making a decision they can never reverse. This truth of cherishing every human life will also help students be led to God. Do not use MA state run programs to teach about bullying in our Catholic schools. Teach the lessons of Jesus. Our schools need to teach truth, not support cultural messages. I am praying for you. I am praying the Holy Spirit will guide you as the leader of the Boston Archdiocese Schools. We need truth. Please start by giving parents back health decisions for our children. May God bless you and may Mary keep you.

Bishop Sheen said that if you want to have your child lose his or her faith, send them to Catholic schools. Yes, your child will receive a great secular education but sadly, religious teaching in too many Catholic schools is woefully lacking and are children graduate illiterate of the faith. Our bishop told his priests at a diocesan meeting mot to teach about heaven and hell because it would alienate our children. The situation of poor catechesis in most parishes is sadly replicated in too many of our Catholic schools.

I appreciate my Catholic education because I learned a lot about the Catholic faith, to the point where I made the educated to decision to become an atheist

you're mentioning treating children as individuals and not identity groups. what about the children at bc high who are being ostracized? they are unable to play sports or eat lunch with their friends. this discrimination is unjust and uncatholic.

I hope we had someone like you in the Archdioceses of Miami. Our schools have become a joke for Catholic education. Very secularized and nowadays using the Covid excuse for not doing a good job!!

Stop snooping through our search history! I got in trouble at school for being bisexual since I searched up on google DURING the school holidays ‘how to come out’ and the teachers literally snooped through my history! And you can’t sign out of the google account the school offers you! It’s messed up!

Remember, the POPE said that god accepts the LGBTQ community.
