Hey. The US army had something called friction tape. It is like a old version of the shiny black electrical tape you can get now. If you pop onto ebay and type in friction tape you should be able to find something suitable. black cloth tape can be used in a pinch to just do not use any shiny tape like the modern electrical tape. So ideal is black friction tape but you can certainly get away with some black cloth tape if that is all you can get your hands on :)
@@thIDthIRreenactor they were used. Because not every solider used them is not a valid reason to not use them. As I have said before. If there is a single wartime photo of something being done then as far as I am concerned then that is a valid thing to have on your impression as you are representing something that you know happened. I do not understand this "only do what the majority did" mind set.
