You probably haven't heard about "Margin Time" If you consult the digital help manuals of the Puyo Puyo Tetris games, Margin Time is explained as the time it takes for damage to build up to a certain level. Judging by how long SSENRED321 and Doremy were battling it out in certain games, the Margin Time has certainly run out a few times by then. That's why SSENRED321 quickly counterattacked with just a simple 1-renki.

​@@CrimsonDevil_Rias If they did know, then this was definitely a worthy making fun of it, even if it doesn't mean you should instantly give up when Margin time passes over, I would certainly consider it advisable.

@@goldie7255 huh? Yup it sure is! It is called like this because the character named harpy used to stack like this in the first puyo games. Just like frog stacking that was named like that because nohoho (a frog character) is the one who uses it. The frog stacking is also putting your puyos on the side but in a different way. i think that the frog stacking is what you are looking for

@@goldie7255 but some people refer to harpy stacking, as using this strategy but without thinking (placing the pieces ramdomly at the sides expecting for a chain)

Tetris players have a much easier time with setups so it's somewhat normal a Puyo player's attacks hurt more.

@@tehrik0020 While that is true, the lag of the game in general, margin time, eaten inputs, and the reduced speed means veteran players don't have it nearly as easily as they did back in the first Puyo Tetris.

@@deandregreene2587 you also have to factor how much a Tetris player can screw over a Puyo at game start, Puyo has a somewhat harder time removing junk because it stacks on top of their pile, meaning that it can potentially block every chain you've prepared and force you to rebuild entirely in a narrower space just to clean garbage and resume whatever you were doing originally. (Not sure if 4-wide completely abusing Puyos is a valid argument but 4-wides are sorta considered taboo so...)

Contrast that with the clip at around 10:45. Where the Tetris player has a full screen of garbage and is still doing T-spins and Tetrises, instead of digging. The gameplan doesn't have to change at all While at 31:35, the puyo player gets completely rolled by a few garbage pieces blocking anything he could have done.

​@@spencechan Makes me understand there's actually a weird dynamic with the two playstyles that isn't like Tetris at all in which Tetris is aggressive and Puyo is defensive and looking for the perfect opportunity until the script flips and it's Tetris who must play with more defensive rhythm than before in order to keep up with the Puyo player's increased pace of gameplay. It makes me sad that SEGA doesn't quite give the franchise the attention and reverence it used to have when Puyo Puyo was owned by COMPILE because this gameplay is completely unique and engaging in ways other Tetris simulators are literally incapable of replicating

It's especially felt because the bot for puyo feels like they get better much faster than the tetris bot in the adventure mode

It is available in the PS4 release? I know it is in the PC and Switch releases. The voice switch was not in the PPT 1 release for PS4.

lol, bro is a t-spin bonobo that gotta look flashy for his impressionable fans on YT at the end of the day. this is why the puyo player came soo close. the puyo player honestly shoulda won this set because of this as well, but he also made some odd macro plays and mistakes.
