Hey Danya, ive got an idea for a new series I’ve been thinking about a lot that could help a lot of ppl. You do a speedrun (surprise) but every game is actually a viewer playing with you coaching them in a call. You could do a much longer format. 30 minutes maybe so the viewer could really explain what they think about a position and you could explain why they are focusing on the wrong thing etc… or what they are missing about a position. It would help a lot of players to show the difference live on how a beginner / intermediate / advanced players look at a position and how at every level they notice better things but still not at your level. Ik 30 minutes may sound like a lot but you could do like 2 games per 100 elo or something to start.

This, but if he's gonna do it, I would start at like the 1200 level.
@cyin974

Coaching a viewer live sounds like too much contingency and effort ngl, Danya will have to prepare a lot more before and after every game to have an actual useful coaching session

@@cyin974yea it could be a lot of work,but there’s definitely ways to make it rly educational. He could also choose people he knows personally or twitch mods / donors so he knows them sorta

After watching this video I decided it was so easy I would give it a try. My previous best was 51 and I was able to raise that to 52. Small steps but a big deal to me. I spent an hour and 21 minutes to get those 52 right and the three wrong. I got the first 48 before dropping one. My trouble is getting lazy on the early ones and missing one or two that I shouldn't. I just have to try harder at the beginning to save my strikes for later in the run or I just get terrible scores.

In the puzzle at 1:20:12, it's worth remarking how critical it is that White's king is close enough to be a mating threat after white promotes, since otherwise Q vs h pawn on the second rank is a draw
@gratitud143
@gratitud143 4 месяца назад
At the puzzle with the pawn endgame around 1:20:00 it would have been very instructive to show, why the other variation with the black king on b3 and the pawn on a2 is winning. Loved the video, it was a really good exercise up to the last problem

Proof, if proof were needed, that Danya is the best chess tutor. Watching this video, I'm pausing and trying to solve the puzzles before he says anything. Not even using a board, just trying to work it out. My best in puzzle rush survival is 37, and I normally get more in the 25-30 range. I'm currently at puzzle 44 in this video and haven't missed one. Paused to play a puzzle rush myself and...got 18. Just the mere *presence* of the Prophet makes me a better puzzle solver.

69 comments as im writing this o.o just wanted to share that i actually took the inspiration and after watching this video didnt make it to 60 without a fail either, literally failed the 60th puzzle after solving it correctly at first (or well, until last 2 moves but i wouldve found them had i gone through with it), but then i saw another line that seemed more convincing but i missed a really for me difficult move to spot in calculation.. anyway, my best is 69 survival from two days before christmas, i think i will do them more regularly like you said to stay in this tactical shape even though im studying a lot of opening theory lately (not sure what for because ill likely be unaliving myself real soon anyway

I recommend these to anyone and everyone that asks me how to improve at chess. It’s always puzzles. The way people tell me don’t do drugs and i still do them, I tell people “do chess puzzles” and they tell me “did you hit your head, why are you talking to yourself, calls the cops.”
