PV with the W. much better sound quality than state. Also PV's book was more appropriate for a fifth where you want to display everything from articulation, sound quality, arrangements and entertainment. ASU did decent though.
If you believe PV had a great sound here than you have low expectations for your program. The first rap tune PV played in the 5th canceled half of your critique! Asu has been improving but still has aways to go, but us Asu peeps aren't in denial. Decent showing from both programs.
The crazy thing about this battle is the dude with camera actually think that last song was worth bama state leaving lol you funny guy. But Bama State gets the W in this one

Nedric Hatcher You Didn't Come Off As Rude.. But I Never Said ASU Got The W Here.. But Look At This. Both Bands Had Issues With The Trumpet Sections , People Not Knowing Music , Intonation Issues . So I Don't Understand How PV Got A W Here.. I Expected More Out Of PV Especially After Having A Season Like They Did In 2015. Both Bands Approached Each Other In Different Ways . ASU Was More Aggressive But PV Focused More On Being Musical I Guess.. But I Wasn't Impressed With PV At All.. And It Was Their Homecoming

Everyone has there own thoughts, and I think ppl get so caught up in they feelings they start to bash the programs smh. Both bands could have done better. PV finally has a bye week before they play a local PWI. Then they'll see JSU that following week.

I will say ASU did better than I expected. They had a few times they really cranks but theee needs to be more consistency. Music selection a1, field show like bruhhh lol gotta say it was lit. Current storm holding their own. I see they worked on the blend because for a while euphoniums were killing. Great job on musicianship. That's the true Prof Ed way! Glad ASU came but PV took that W... get over it
PV had a great sound and arrangements to fit their band. In these days, bands are mimicking heavy brass to emulate others and it's really stripping the identity and competitiveness from the craft. ASU trumpets ain't that bad, they are just MIA. Look at some of their old footage. This is heaven compared to how they used to sound.
It was a pretty good battle. ASU came better than I thought they would and had some interesting, great songs during the game. Song selection goes to ASU, but quality of sound goes to PV. You can have great song selections, but if it aint sounding right, what's the point? ASU's best sounding song in my opinion was "Bust Your Windows". Other than that, PV still gets the win. For the idiots doubting PV's book, watch for the JSU/SU/Alcorn games. lol
***** Right! ASU became inconsistent with their sound and at times didn't really have a full sound. ASU generally has a pretty good trumpet section, but idk what happened at the game. All i know is ppl gone learn to stop underestimating PV
If you're not going to speak facts then you shouldn't comment. Both programs are lacking in some kind of way... no one band was better than the other. Just a good ol HBCU Marching Band battle. It was an even battle IMO. Shouts out to Bama State Tubas though Snap Snap.....

To the ASU fans....YOU ARE DELUSIONAL 😂 You're going to need more than song selection to win. Can we get a consistent and not so empty sound?? You would at least have an argument at that point. The most controlled song was the one at the end.
clewis0101 I'm not discrediting anyone. I love both bands. I didn't come on the post saying that ASU was trash or anything that would discredit or tarnish their band program. Nor did I say PV was perfect. MY OPINION is that PV was the better band. PV also was more consistent than ASU. Like someone else put in the post, seemed like ASU ran out of gas. And people need to let the "no book" thing go. SMH

Great battle. I assume asu get geared up for certain bands because for the A&M and jsu game they were just plain bad. Lol but this was a real interesting battle
I'M sorry PV haven't been good since 06, and 07... and ASU was about 15 trumpet away from making y'all look like a homicide.... if they had trumpets it wouldn't even been close only thing asu messed up on was that fanfare... ASu with the W... but it was kinda of close because the trumpet was getting covered by that monster low brass
both have too many breakdowns and chants ............. Oh and Cecil Williams is doing a show at the Improv February 31st........no reason to feel bad for SOUTHERN , they've already did away with bama st...........what really should feel bad is taking an L to a band with no trumpets. Alabama State with the W !!!!! Come on Zach.....lol !
