Sorry, JSU took this one. ASU sounds unsure on a lot of the arrangements. JSU's Holy Grail was good I would like to see their version vs. AAMU's version. Take Me To The King was alright but there were some IFFY spots in there unfortunately. That Suit and Tie arrangement was not executed well.....Needless to say its just the second game so I expect some improvement with both bands.

JSU won hands down. ASU is off tune, sounded like wrong notes in take me to the king. JSU sounded like they practiced and ASU sounds like they just started practicing those songs the week of the game. Suit and Tie sounded like SHIT

Dang Calvin Bartlett why can't the Boom just be the best Boom that the are trying to be w/o being compared to SU. Do you and all the others honestly believe that the band directors at JSU work hard to be another Juke Box? No one else can be the Juke Box SU is the best at what thy do. Can everybody else be the best at what they do with out being compared to SU? Get over it already... LOVE THA BOOM! crab of 95...

@john90mpw ... Good evaluation, ASU just didn't seem sure in certain spots in several songs by sneaking in playing then loud and wrong is never a good mix. It is Game 2 agreed, but this is a collegiate band right? You should know your music by the first game get rid of the alternates....

Aw man the winner was decided after asu attempting to play that Miguel song and botched it. And jsu arrangement was much better imo. i liked asu take me to the king tho.

Alabama has begun to focus on the important things such as, execution and balance. They've also cut off a lot of dead weight. Their sound has evolved a great deal from last year. JSU is slowing going back to their roots and what built their reputation as a clean, balanced band. As both bands improve throughout the season they will become tough contenders.

Our band director demonstrated that if you put a one person space between you and the musician on both sides you can almost double the sound and volume of the band. When all of the bands bunch up elbow to elbow their uniforms and body actually absorb some volume before it launches from the band. We marched 150 and would stretch from top to bottom to side and the majorettes would have 2 rows of seats. Our volume would shock the band across the hill. Try some balance spacing & watch

Not a fan of either band but it was a nice battle. Being a Juke box fan I do have to give some props to ASU they don't try to over reach and be who their not. kinda fond of the sound they have to be honest.

No one can predict the outcome of The Boom vs The Jukebox because both bands are very good this year. We'll all just have to await the outcome of that one. Although there will be some disagreements, Alcorn may be the quiet monster this year. I'm expecting them to do very well.

Oh my, I will always love my hornets, but that John Legend not afraid to fly was ON POINT!!!! I will give ASU their ups for still sounding pretty good, but JSU is back how I remember them!!! I love this new direction their headed in!!! SU vs JSU should go down in history books this year!!!!

1MR.TC not all JSU songs sound like SU but that miguel song does. From the intro with the trumpets and samething with the tubas when SU played turn off the lights. Don't get me wrong i love the boom every since i seen my 1st halftime show when lady that jumped out that box with that tiger cat suit lawd.back in the early 90's!!
