PvM Tips & Tricks for Runescape 3 

There have been some changes today where abilities are used automatically after detonate (basics) I have yet to check this myself due to the login lockout though, so I can't explain it in detail.

As someone who started playing pre-EOC and just back into RS3, getting into PvM is so overwhelming. Thanks for your vids Protoxx, they are amazing!

5:17 Maybe an extra piece of advice, after selecting the default interaction with your summoned familiar, you can drag the summoning icon to your action bar and actually quickbind the "take BoB" interaction, so u can just refill your inv with a press of a button instead of taking your mouse out of the fight. Even better, if you have a legendary pet, make the interaction for legendary pet "Take BoB" and "Special move" for summoned familiar. Just keep in mind to then always use your legendary pet as a BoB. That way you don't even have to change the interaction if you're bringing a ripper or titan. (That's just me being lazy but hey, it works).

Worth mentioning when using detonate with deto boots you need to start deto charge up with wand equipped otherwise you won’t be able to get an auto attack after the 4 ticks necessary to charge deto, you would need to wait longer which is actually less dps than just using an ability without an auto.

Major thank you to showing his key binds at the end. I’ve been trying to take my pvming to the next level and recently redid all my key binds and trying to get into manually triggering thresholds and it feels like I hit a wall. This along with all your tips helped a lot and thank you to what you do!

Once you set a left-click option for the familiar icon, you can also set a hotkey for familiar action in the keybinds menu! I use ctrl-f (as in 'food').

This video reminded me of how little I know about PvM. Will be useful if I ever get into it however! :)

I think something important to cover is Target Cycle. It allows you to target things without having to click and also be able to target things before they are clickable; handy for specific situations where you can attack earlier due to it. This also allows you to cycle through targets to pick something appropriate (hence the name: target cycling). Useful for multiple targets and prioritizing which target you want to focus on.

I cannot do that keybind setup anymore. Playing RS/wow for like 15 years now eventually wore me down to where if I tried all those shift/alt key alternatives my hand would literally cramp up. Still, this does make me look at my keybinds and wonder how I could fit more stuff on them. I already just put iop[] as "all the keys needed to do a Death swiftness ring and offhand swap and back" and jkl;' as the same but for magic. A little awkward, but still a hell of a lot easier than trying to manage that mess with the far less responsive inventory.

Protoxx, we need more guides about this, there`s not enough info about this topic, please help us with ranged and melee dps guides.

Another useful tip: if you turn on manual spellcasting in settings, you can keybind air strike (or any spell, really) and it will scale up to your autocasted spell's damage, so you're basically casting air surge with only one air rune.

3:57 haven't heard anyone talk about the dragon battleaxe spec for years. I would dragon battleaxe spec, dragon dagger p++ spec, then switch to my dragon scimitar/abbysal whip... all to kill experiments/yaks faster

Just putting it out there that shift can also be used as a modifier key like ctrl or alt

In the bottom left corner, it shows detonate before auto attack, even though it's the other way round, as you're already explaining it, first auto, then deto

THere is just one tip in here that should be useful for anyone thats 4taa but on a budget. If u turn on manual spell casting u can stay ticked onto air surge but i when u use ur auto att u just click air strike. itll still do damage as if its the air surge spell but with the rune cost of air strike which in the long run will save u 4 air runes per cast

In your keybinds section, you are rebinding wasd. Do you use the arrow keys for camera in that case?

Thank you for the video guide, but i have one issue regarding the Detonate is during the charging sequence where you show 1:42 to 1:50 Auto-Attack (air surge on keybind) > Detonate and during the charge of Detonate you showcase the continuation of base magic hit of auto-attack, which doesn't seem to work for me?. I would appreciate the help.

The tip for auto deto ability is great but i think you should fix the icons on screen to show what order you should be pressing the buttons in. Auto + deto + ability same tick but the video shows deto + auto + ability. It’s bound to confuse some people. Maybe an annotation or something :)

Have to be very familiar w your keyboard for this. A benefit of being a long time pc gamer, which I am not lol. Extremely helpful video tho

just a quick fyi, araxxor doesnt take familiar damage, so titan doesnt do anything there

I was cheking for spell demage, and Air surge is Weaker than fire surge... it’s not that big difference, but I wanted to know what’s the best spell to use.

Get an MMO mouse. Having all your basics, thresholds, and sunshine on your thumb keys is sooooooo nice

I left runescape when RS3 wan't a thing and I come back now and peoples set ups for monster killing looks insane! I never got to the level of boss killing before I left but everyones load outs where like equipment, the odd potion and then an inv of food. Now it's like pouches and incense sticks and a slayer gem and different capes.... I don't recognise this shit lmao

I play on a MacBook Pro laptop lol I click everything and have been playing since 2008. I have maxed out 2 accounts except for the newer invention and archeological skills. I wanted to get back into the game and do fun stuff. I was never really good at the game and have been in f2p attacking people in the wilderness. It’s so dead up there nobody plays anymore. I’m waiting for rs3 mobile now.

Stupid question- if you keybind sara brew flask (6), drink it, then it is down to sara brew (5). If I press the same key again, will my character drink from the sara brew (5) or will it drink from a (6) ?

In case you didn't know, the steel titan cannot spec araxxor since familiars cannot damage that boss

where's the motivation when i wasted over 15M on deaths just yesterday on raksha with the best result bringing him to like 550K hp (stupid me totally forgot about the practice mode tick box and lastly also retard me being confident enough that i would take on a high end boss when i struggle to take down rax above 200 enrage) only to watch evil lucario take down raksha with like almost 0 food in just 4 minutes.

With that mouse he has (i have the same one) you can also make a macro for a 2 or even 3 way switch in 1 button I have my flanking switch on mouse key 12 And shield + played feet switch on 6

I like how only runescape uses "PVM", other games use "PVE" Also, "gf" is used instead of "gg".

Since coming back I’ve had a brutal time figuring out what bosses to do! I’m maxed and have all my PvM reqs now, and will start with GWD1 to get nex key, then go to GWD2 for reape rkills and unlock twos door, them probably arraxxor

My two bosses at the PvM hub are Graardor and KBD... I suck at PvM :D
