I honestly don’t see the problem with the new PvP zone and being able to team up unofficially. Things like this have the capability to become real fun gameplay. Back in the day, we found the wilderness, we ventured through it, we saw a Zerg of players and we died. We gathered our friends and set out on revenge. So many good and memorable stories.
if the FFA won't work as intended it will be players fault who always try to find easier ways to get things instead of enjoying the game...if they put an FFA zone and players/guilds try to circumnavigate what the zone is about its not AGS fault, its people mentality that is fked
@@Ares_XO No, while players are a fault for colluding, it is much more Amazon Games fault... it is obvious and unavoidable that people will work collude and team up. There is absolutely no doubt this will happen. Even people as clueless and out-of-touch as the New World devs should understand this. Knowing this, the devs should have done A LOT more to make it difficult to collude. The area will be ruined by large groups running through and killing everybody; this will be VERY EASY to do in DIscord with even a mildly organized group. Like everything else Amazon Games does, this will be a huge failure.
@@Ares_XO As a developer it's your job to prevent abuse and exploitation of features. For example on a website, for a form field supposed to receive a phone number, we limit the entry to only a series of numbers of 10 characters (may vary based on the country phone number format). Relying on the competence or good faith of users is an utopia.
As an eu player it would be really important to know which communities go to which server. I don't wanna end up on a server with a turkish community or something with close to 0 english speakers.
@@dsmluckyes, and in elden ring the combat is designed around that. How much stamina do you have in Elden Ring? You can dodge like 10 times in a rown, you can sprint to avoid attacks etc. target lock in New World completely negates the action nature of the combat. It’s basically tab target now
@@Festiino It does not. Even as a controller user I found it better to use situational and not all the time. I don't see how the number of dodges factors in to this topic. It's still really solid action combat. If you want to talk about tab target go play T&L.
@@dsmluck number of dodges dictates how many auto aimed attacks you can avoid. In new world you get to dodge 2 attacks, then you’re taking everything else to the face
Making chests function like a resource is going to lead to some monstrous behavior in that zone. I hope it works out, but I can envision so many ways this goes very badly.
Can you get the items in the ffa pvp zone in other places? I am always going to be on with my buddy. I dont want to miss good gear or items because of this.
In the media demo they show lighting hitting players that are gathering in the mist, similar to BnB's carry the orb mini game. Perhaps that is how they will break up groups in the mist.
I can see them going full target lock on console only servers which is why they needed to fully test it the way that they did. I've never believed that it would be full target lock across PC / console crossplay servers.
Doubt they will list servers. Basically with their narrow capacity per server you are asking them to make opening peak sales/numbers. My bet is they want 300k concurrent , hopeful for 150k and would be ok with 50 to 75k. So my bet is they have 12 servers available and can add more over the opening days.
As far as I know, you don't have to start fresh. The old servers will become Legacy Servers, and the new ones will be fresh start servers with crossplay enabled and the new standard servers. But the update will roll out on the legacy servers as well.
Regarding the "FFA an experiment" topic and comparing it to the new influence races and that they've been stagnant... I still optimistically believe that they have been pushed extremely hard by budget and/or time constraints to get ready for this Aeternum Launch. I am giving the benefit of doubt that once Aeternum launches and initial launch bugs are sorted they will have a lot more freedom to add content and iterate on current systems. Could I be wrong? Yes, for sure... but there's a potential player base of like 130 Million console players, plus a lot of PC players that I know are coming back to the game (I'm one of them). I choose optimism for now.
Making a console version on an inhouse engine is a very expensive thing... It's not just turning on some knobs. So it makes sense to expect more pvp content post-launch
They could do so much to make this truly FFA. Sharding as soon as you enter, forcing you into a random shard with random players and a cap on total players per the region. Anonymity, as you suggest (until you have killed or have been killed by, maybe, to keep the feeling of actually fighting the community alive). Dying should place you into another shard randomly. Another would be to convert part of Mourningdale, which needs a revamp anyway, into a group version of this which is strictly group versus group, giving groups somewhere to go to do similar content. Also... "Deep dive" does a lot of heavy lifting here :D

Hello, have they not played any real pvp games like Darkfall or Mortal Online. Friendly fire increases the skill gap, it separates those that can work as an organized team and those that are a disorganized mess. I welcome it to be honest it would completely change the dynamic of group combat for the better.
As a pc player I wasn’t worried about the target lock half the time you need to lead your shots it’s only a problem up close which most kb/mouse shouldn’t miss….
I don't think it's going to be as hard to "collude" as they do. People will just focus on ranged builds. All they need is a good mobility weapon secondary like Rapier. Then whoever the target approaches will just focus on evasion. lol.
there may will be some pve player who try this,but myself as most of the time pve player and talk over the years with other pve players,most of them see pvp as Plague. FF14 is not without a reason popular because it seperate pvp from pve 100%, you dont even have the same skills in pvp(its not the only one reason but a big one). But i think they should make a full pvp server for the pvp players instead but i dont think there are enough of them to justify a full pvp server because they cost money to.
The concept of a PvP area is fine, but the way they are implementing it is sus. It's probably just going to be awful for a lot of players. Thumbs up for great videos.
Haha, their main detriment to collusion is friendly fire through AOEs, but players will just make single target builds for this... Which, funny enough... will be even easier to avoid friendly fire with when you can aim-lock on the enemy...
This is funny because the player base for NW is horribly bad. They go into wars and OPR spam meteor get high overall damage but no actual kills and then think they are the best 😂
Free for all - free means free to coordinate, just not free from friendly fire. Not sure what's confusing about that, or what y'all think can be done to prevent a company from working together there. Folks are looking for game mechanics to solve what needs to be a player based in-game solution. Use the game.
AGS Translation: We've heard your valid complaints and aren't really going to fix it, we will just tone it down a little so you STFU and not scare off our upcoming revenue stream. Also, looks like the FFA PvP zone will be a complete cluster flop unless you are one of the top players or in a cheaters guild like Musket Union.
I was thinking of buying the game just for that pvp zone but sound like new world players are the kind of people who would cry about it so it's a hard no for this game :(
I think making a pvp zone where you can get high-quality resources is a mistake. Crafters have nothing to be with pvp, are 2 different topics. Crafters are mostly pve players. I think a pvp zone should give things to get pvp gear, help faction to get reputation in a territory, etc. Something that has only to be with pvp.
@davonnelmao are you serious? Do you know how many guys you need to kill a paladin or a heal with rapier? What are gonna do medium armor players in an open field map vs light Armor players that can kite indefinitely and run away if things looks bad?
I'm a PVE player. I don't like PVP. I usually play at the end of my day. I want to sit down and have a peaceful gameplay and not have to compete with other player who want to kill me because I want to cut some trees down. I find it extremely annoying. Putting needed gear in a PVP zone to make PVE players play something they don't want to play will only force them to leave the game. I'll leave the game if that is my only option of getting the gear. I don't find any joy in PVP.
Honestly what they should do is pvp/pve dungeon style ! Meaning to say. Instead of free for all make it 2 group of 5 men que and gather material while fighting a boss and at the same time killing others to stop them from extracting the treasure.
Well...that wasn't GOOD news, but I've resigned myself to expecting any different. Still like the game, but only thing I haven't done is collect my goldfish and become a war logger 😅 😢

I don’t understand how a team can make so few decisions, and yet so bad and wrong, even when their community is telling them that they are doing it wrong. This game has been destined for failure since before its release.
So, I just logged in to NW figuring I'd level up my last toon to lvl 65. It took me TWENTY MINUTES to log in and teleport to the zone I wanted to play in. I have NEVER seen a game perform as badly as NW. Sh*t, floppy disk games on my old 1980's Macintosh out performed this piece of garbage.
@@SysFader why do you think any mmo does everything in it's might to make everything solo able. People like the concept of groups but the world is too busy. Today people want instant gratification and fun. Not needing to wait for X amount of time to do Y just for player Z to leave and need to find player C. Outside of the hardest content people prefer just clicking into a group finder and run with 4 random people without talking any word
They should just make a PvP ONLY server, say 1 per zone, and you can transfer in and out of it, once per week for free. If you want to PvP, then go there and be hard core ... like Darktide in the old Asheron's Call MMO. If you don't want to PvP, then you never have to go there. If you are a PvPer, go there and leave us PvE'ers alone.
Every Time i still think i have some hope left for NW, the Devteam reminds me why thats just dumb. I hope they finaly find a Path to stay on and work from there.

Guys play one week of Throne and liberty and then play new world . For a player that has thousands of hours in New world, this game missing out in a lot of ways. T&L is going to win bye more than a mile. These people in ags for NW are makes all the wrong decisions. That’s all im going to say . Good luck on the new beginning. If it’s not delayed or worse
All controller needs is a form of aim assist that helps, but it also needs a major sensitivity increase because at 100 it feels like a 3 or 4 in an fps. I hate that slow sensitivity could be a reason they added target lock because controller can't keep up with chasing someone. My steam imput uses mouse sensitivity, so I play in controller, but with snappy sensitivity and it feels so good. I don't need Target lock at all
In eso which is not cross platform but is supported on all platforms.. we have “tab target” which allows you to keep an eye on your intended target and Will also automatically do your damage to that target in clumped areas but no target lock and still has action based combat, works very well! AGS could look at that and rethink their design with target lock if the main reason is to appease console population.. PS we (console players) don’t NEED aim lock.. NW already has sticky aim if I’m not mistaken? change aim lock to tab target and then its job done imo!
Love how they just ripped off Albion. Shits so funny. I said it before and I’ll say it again. Give me Albion mechanics and new worlds look. Would be a perfect PvP game.
