*VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:* Any characters promoted using this method will NOT unlock character upgrades or player ranks automatically. However, they can both still be unlocked regularly by gaining exp. The game tracks your character level and character rank separately, so even if you rank up your character you won't gain the levels for it. This means you can still level up at master rank and get what you would normally by doing so, and the leveling process is greatly sped up due to this glitch technically sending your character level into the negatives. If you have the stars to do so, I recommend using the fish to level up as it will usually only require ten stars for each level.
@@NotUndulateCrown58 All of the upgrades are obtainable, but you need to still level up to obtain them. The only difference with upgrades is that you level up faster and can thus obtain them faster.

Contrary to what a lot of the comments are saying, this doesn't stop you from getting max rank or character upgrades. From the testing I've done, It sets you to a negative level and you still need to grind XP for upgrades and rank. The "Max" on the XP bar is only there because the game doesn't have a way to show you needing XP when the character is supposedly Mastered already. I tested this with SHR.I.M.P and promoted them to Master using this glitch. I used the fish a few times and leveled up enough (even as Master level) and got a character upgrade and rank ups. I then fought in the Backyard for a bit until I leveled up again. Therefore, you can still rank up and get upgrades like normal. That being said, I don't really like how the title claims that this gives you infinite coins and XP. In reality, depending on how many character you have, it gives you a limited amount of coins, and only the experience from doing the Imp Roundup mission.

Disclaimer! The promoting boosts the rank of the character, but not their level, however, this is useful for the flag of power Glitch twice and invincibility for farming Exp on bosses in the back yard due to you not having to stop and go promote, on plants you’d have to redo zombie plant, flag twice, and invincibility glitches, however, doing this trick can nullify the need to redo the glitches
Can confirm this glitch works. Did it myself. I would advise when you are cancelling the quest and pressing yes. To do this for like 5 min. I did it for like 2 min and i could only promote my character twice before it noticed. So had to do it again and i did for like 5 min. Then after i could glitch promote 2 characters fully.
@@1bitzin the video he says that it doesn't work on zombies because when you do the chomper glitch you can't change characters because of the lag in-game that we cause to infinite promote the characters
I tried this before (it does work, but it will cause problems with your character upgrades; for example, you may have a sub-variant fully promoted to master but will only have 7/8 upgrades in total, meaning that you will not get the health perk). so i would recommend with caution
It doesnt work on my ps5 like when i do the first mission wait til it ends my chompers pizza takes 3 seconds to load then i do last mission go to chompers pizza and it just says restart is there anything i can do to avoid that
the glitch worked for me but i only promoted once then it went away i dont know if its because im on pc. A lot of the bugs that i tried havent worked (the imp glitch and delivery ones do) but the actual bug doesnt so i dont know if its because im not on console
The same thing happened to me and I'm on console (ps4 pro to be precise) so I'm not sure if it still works even though it should as the game has not been updated
I have a doubt, I upgraded a character and used the bug, it only gave me half 80k and it didn't give me any more but the funny thing is that it didn't give me its character upgrade, since it automatically upgraded to master, is it possible to get its upgrades or now? No?
Dude, I can't do it, can I do the right part of canceling, do I need spamming? I didn't do that, I just kept clicking Y and B for 4 minutes and when I went to the promotions it only progressed one level, did I do something wrong? Pls help me
So, upon checking this video, your in-game rank doesn’t appear to increase, but you do earn coins. I feel a follow-up will be needed to clear up the following: -Is the rank up permanent? If so, doing this glitch with multiple characters will make it literally impossible to get max rank, as you are stuck on master for the character of interest, and have no way to level them up and increase your rank. In the flip side, doing this on a new account would make it funny to troll as a no-rank with a bunch of mastered characters. -If it _is_ just a visual glitch, did you just juice out all of the coins you get for promoting a character? What I mean by that is if you proceed to level that character up legit, will you still get coins, or will the game not give you any because you technically received them earlier? -What you said at the end wasn’t really clear. Do you only get coins for each time you go to specialist > advanced > elite > super elite > master? If that’s the case, you only have so many coins per character to get. Until these are answered, I’d proceed with caution when using this glitch.
I don’t know if it’s just me but I’m on Xbox and this hasn’t worked I’ve tried it 2 times I don’t know if it’s me just doing it wrong or if it’s just all around Xbox players ?
I done this glitch you do not get your rank plate level up at all, i dont know if this come later but if not your rank will be stuffed up and you cannot get max rank
Guys, please don't do it on PC, when I rejoined the game in the next day, all my plants and zombies have gone to level 0 and the glitch didn't worked, I could only upgrade their mastery 1 time. they kept the mastery they already had before, but they all went to level 0, so basically, I was at level (4)80. And now I'm at (1)13. This is so stupid, I lost my progress :( Edit: Guys, apparently, it's not the glitch who made my data reset, it just coincidentally pvzGW2 got level data wiped for all players hours after I've tried the glitch, so IT'S NOT THE GLITCH, You can do it safely.

Question, I've tried this glitch out on a character I don't really care about and it sure works, they're now at master rank, however, basically none of their character upgrades are unlocked and my player rank has not gone up, is that something that just gets fixed once you get enough xp/enough time passes or is my character just forever broken?
Nevermind, I figured it out. If anyone is having the same issue, I just went to the fish to attempt to level up and it said that I was level -34, aka the amount of levels the character needs to be promoted to master, so all in all, you'll still have to level up your character, you'll just have the character at master level and you'll get the coins
Ok so for the people who manly want to do this for character upgrades pls dont, only use thi glitch on characters you are never going to use as you can still get coins just by doing this.
Do I still get all the upgrades for my plants if I do this glitch? Edit: I’ve tried this and got toxic citron to master and he does not have any new upgrades so unless you want the achievement I wouldn’t do this glitch also I seem to still level up its says I’m level -31 idk if you can still get your upgrades by doing this and If you can you might as well just level your character up normally
Question: can i anyways get the upgrades (like the damage upgrade or health upgrade) that you gain when you reach a level 5 or 9 in differents rank if i do this glitch?
@@gumdrop371 well, curious that you said that, because i have mastered Scuba with this glith, and then I though about the question i made, put this comment and later i played scuba for a few time, just to realize that you can get upgrades after all. I dont know if this didn't happened to you or if you're just trolling, but i get all the upgrades for him (i think)
