So many questions. I would have loved to have seen inside the hatch. Also, how does the seat move from low to high? The holes on the back are not really located for a power pole micro. The middle ones are too far back for a power pole. The side ones don’t align with anything I’ve seen. How is the new rudder deployed?
Thanks so much for reaching out! Answers here: The Front seat legs fold under so the seat nests in the lower position and locks in place. The height difference is around 5 inches. The holes in the center of the stern have been set so the powerpole will mount directly and clear the boat. The side plates mount to the 4 inserts on each side. The plates will come with Powerpole hole positions and threaded inserts. The rudder pivots down with a spring system. There is a pull cord rigged on the starboard side of the seat. The blade is tucked in a channel in the hull when not in use.
I have the P127 and also an RVR. Haven't been happy with rudder performance of the P127. If the rudder on the PWR performs well, I'd love to see the P127 replaced with a pedal drive version of this kayak.
Yeah motor technology already has made it accessible to these narps...Now its has more or less become essential to have FFS in tournament yak bassin from the small trails to the bigger leagues like KBF and BOS- its tragic. Also 06:58 the rudder is still exposed below the stern when its fully retracted... its gonna have issues.
One day AR glasses will be able to be synced up to real time 3D mapping tech and people can visualize on first person where the fish are around them as if the water wasn’t even ever there
Im about to buy my first quality fishing kayak. I have decided on bonafide and was really in to the RVR due to i want to do alot of river fishing/camping trips. And what got me on that was the anchor system. Im really disappointed that this doesn't have those integrated in to this. If they had this additional option i would jave been sold on this. Now im stuck between these 2 and more research to do on this kayak 🤬🤬
Well if it's anything like the RVR, it's gonna be a great yak. May i ask what USB port you use? The ones I've tried from amazon keep going bad. The last one actually fried one of my cameras
Glad you are liking the PWR! It does not come pre-wired but we have made it as easy as possible with access ports to wire yourself. We also provide kits like this: bonafidefishing.com/products/pwr129-bow-motorization-kit-with-freshwater-motorguide-xi3-gps-and-dakota-12v-60ah-battery Hope this helps!
Getting pwr129 in 2 weeks. Dealer will install Newport NK300 on stern. In NJ I often go in tidal rivers off of the ocean as well as Raritan Bay. 10% I am in a group that goes in ocean which could be out of inlet or launch thru surf. Different opinions as to where to place battery. Some advise that place in front hatch (rivers & bay)to make a more even weight placement vs. rear of seat to launch thru surf so bow is raised a little to cut waves. Some say have both. Opinion? Appreciated.
The NK 36V(40AH) will likely be too much weight up front in the bow. We would recommend putting it directly behind the seat. Shouldn't have any issues with weight distribution. Hope this helps!
We are still working on getting this in stock. Here is the link: bonafidefishing.com/products/pwr129-dry-pod-plate . You can add yourself to the Wait List to be notified when it is available in the next couple weeks. Thank you!
@@andyraymond3891 Great question. Technically no, because the tabs wont fit. The tabs could be cut off and it would fit that landing, but no inserts to hold it in place. This will become more clear when the image is posted on the website.
Before pedal drives came along all rudders were foot controlled. This is actually more common than ones that are hand controlled, it’s just been a while since they have been included in a premium fishing kayak that isn’t a pedal drive
Hey man I need some more info on that graph mount! I have 2 lowrance 9s to go on my pwr129 and want them just like yours, up off the deck not mounted to the trac rail.
Hey Josh! We have been working on our new accessory cross bar and it is almost completed. It is called the "Captain's Bridge" and will be available in a month or so. We will have two sizes (likely around 26" and 32"). Here are a few images of the pre-production version: bonafidefishing.com/products/captians-bridge-accessory-mount-cross-bar-32?variant=43334737428670 . We will have pictures of it on the PWR soon too.
@@bonafidefish SWEET! Can you shortly explain the benefit or difference between the 2 sizes? My 129 isn’t quite here yet to measure everything out to see the best fit but I’m definitely getting hitting that notify when in stock button!
@@bonafidefish I got in on that bow motorization kit yesterday 🤘🏽😎. Picking the yak up tomorrow and already have the xi3 in the garage along with 2 9” lowrances waiting to go on the captains bridge!
@@Jtb_fishing88 NICE! You are going to love having the Xi3 on the PWR. Regarding the size, it will likely be based on preference for the individual user. Most will likely be placed on the two smaller tracks just behind the bow hatch. We just added an image to that link in the previous comment of the smaller version on those tracks. Hope this helps!
Man if it was just a little wider. went from a titan 13.5 to a nucanoe unlimited, if this design was pushing 40" wide I think I would have found the perfect boat.
Our boats are stable by design, not stable by wide. You should give it a shot, It’s more stable than most boats that are way wider because of the hull design.
I really like what Bonafide has done here! May I ask a question? Is this the final version? Also have any of the testers used this in an offshore situation? Will Bonafide be rating this as an offshore kayak? Ok I took some liberty here as thats 3😊
Yes, the kayak that Flukemaster has is the final version but shown with a lot of additional accessories not included in the stock model. Regarding offshore fishing in the PWR, we designed the PWR129 to be able to handle big water - whether that be a big freshwater lake or open saltwater environments. Hope this helps!
Hey Mark, great question! You have a few options. You can use the four bolt pattern that is already present in the stock kayak and use the mount that comes with the Micro Anchor if you do not plan to install a stern mounted motor. If you want to have a stern motor, you can purchase the accessory plates to install the Micro Anchor on either side of the kayak bonafidefishing.com/products/pwr129-stern-plates?_pos=4&_sid=b9d85a429&_ss=r. These plates can also be used for dual Micro Anchor installations. As another option you could mount a motor and a Micro Anchor in the four bolt pattern with this plate that we offer: bonafidefishing.com/products/ketch-ss127-stern-motor-mount?_pos=5&_psq=ketch&_ss=e&_v=1.0. I hope this helps!
Thanks for reaching out! The seat can be adjusted to a lower position to reduce the height of the center of gravity for bigger water conditions. We recently did a fishing trip to Panama using the PWR and we went back and forth between the high and low position based on the conditions. We ended up spending more time in the high position because the PWR is so stable. You can check out that video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-il6bmMYQlf0.html . Hope this helps!
I like the adjustable seat and the unlimited modification. Cool video. But those guys were fishing in shore and in bays. The type of fishing conditions I’m talking about is open water, 3-5 miles offshore.
That's a great question actually. Bonafide puts a lot of effort into hull designs that can be paddled well, so you have options for how you use the kayak and do not need a motor to get started. All Bonafides use a hull design that allows them to have as much stability as kayaks that are much wider and hold lots of gear. The extra width in other boats is part of what makes these boats difficult to paddle. So when Gene refers to "paddling well" it's in reference to this category of large "tournament" style kayaks where the capacity gets well over 500 lbs and you may have loads of gear. PWR is still a kayak that can be paddled and enjoyed.
Awwww, look who just showed up. The “just buy a boat” guy. This statement is just like the vegans that always seem to show up in the comment section of hunting videos. This is like telling someone with a really nice off road side by side to just buy a Prius. We use kayaks for the experience, where it can take us and how we like to fish, mostly in places a boat can’t go. If you know, you know and if you don’t you won’t. I put together a little video specifically for this topic for those that do want to “get it”. Y’all check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YBPdWt7URUA.htmlsi=_g6-NmnLVWE_FZhl
Reasons for fishing out of a kayak and not a bass boat 1. Cost of fuel is less than a bass boat 2. Cost of fully rigged kayak is less than a bass boat 3. I spook fewer fish in a kayak 4. I see more on my Lowrance going 4mph than I do going 60 in a bass boat 5. I catch more fish out of a kayak 6. A kayak forces me to figure them out right there which has made me a better angler 7. Most importantly- you can’t fish kayak tournaments out of a bass boat.
