@@srijasingh6533 Agreed totally but in the movie itself the male characters where not condoned for their actions. Rather they were rightly scolded and told off by Hema's character in detail that they had done an extremely wrong thing.
@@srijasingh6533 yes there are many Bollywood scenes that are problematic (like couple of months back I watched Dil Se again and some of the plot/parts are really disturbing). This however was a straight copy from a Hollywood movie - Seven brides for seven brothers, it's not just Bollywood or our society. Most of the world have been like this, promoting hypermasculanity for ages. Over the last 30 yrs it reduced and the last decade has changed things a lot but yes its still work in progress

People have to change and we eventually are. If you put 50-70 yrs of change in perspective, we have moved on a lot. Fun song, RD Burman FTW! This is NOT like 7 brides movie except the idea of these 7 brothers, the second half goes in a typical 80's masala direction, Bachchan has way better classics in the 70's. Some comedy scenes and the soundtrack is the best thing about this movie. Bachchan also has some truly great songs, not just the fun ones. React to Abhimaan (one of the best film albums ever), O Saathi Re (Kishore Kumar), Rim Jhim Gire Saavan, Do Lafzon Ki Hai and many more.
kishor kumar was legendary singer.. he wasn't a trained singer but even more hilarious than any other... he sang a rap in classic times... no one written it no one scripted it he just went in studio and sang in one shot....
Hindi version of 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. I actually have never seen this version but I love & 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. Will have to watch this especially because Big B does a double role!
I have seen both the movies. I remember the dance scene in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers where the youngest brother dances on a wooden plank balanced on a bottle. That was really amazing.
In this movie the haunting background music of Babu(the villain Amitabh Bachchan) was created by a female singer gargling. It sounds like a ridiculous idea but the end result was so so perfect. That music still gives me the chills. RD Burman was a genius❤️

Eh, often it wasn't so 'of course' in Hindi movies. And a lot of 'fun' songs were made about hero harassing the heroine, so that's also not a given. Even in this, they like the boys but the 'abduction' happens without their consent. And they do yell at them afterwards from what I remember.
Nope. They are straight up abducted. It’s supposed to be hilarious and they fall in love with their abductors who apologize after being chastised by their sister in law. It’s all in keeping with the rape culture of Bollywood.

1982, my class 10. What a golden era. We bunked school to see this movie. Entire movie was a great fun. I still remember their booster call ,,, chain kuli ki main kuli ki chain and start 👊🏼
RD was able to create music out of things like a broom, a comb, a spoon and a beer mug, waste tin boxes, half-filled glass bottle of water, he even eked out a tune inspired by the sound the fan in his room would make while on. So many such innovations made RD the GOAT.

RD Burman's music was way ahead of his own time... He was the only person who introduced such rock songs like Dum Maro Dum, and Hare Rama Hare Krishna to this world in the late 70s no matter how much people admire today's new music directors but RD Burman will be always the god and all musician's ldol forever... My respects 🙏😁
After they get them home.... The wife.. (Of amitabh's character... Played by hema malini) gives them a dressing down about the abduction and bars all the boys including amitabh's character to come inside the house..
