Thanks so much for your reaction Amanda. Amazing!!Huge compliment for us! I am extremely proud and happy to know that you love Lata Mangeshkar. Also please react to one more master piece song from this movie - Tere mehefil mein kismet.
She's Madhubala, legendary actress of bollywood, died in 1969 for the causes of hole of heart decease or heart leakage, if she still alive, on this time she's age become 92 years old almost, This song was sung by ane & only Lata Mangeshkar... This song is a part of movie "Mughlai-e-azam", released in 1960, a blockbuster movie of that time, actually this was a black & white movie, after the 50 years anniversary of this movie, it was edited by colour, The most mysterious thing is on that time, the movie maker hired approx 1lakh people to make a war scene, This movie is based on the love story of Indian mughal empire Jahangir & a simple maid Anarkali (time period was 15th century), Akbar,(father of Jahangir, empire of that time), not excepted this relationship, for that reason, there were organised a war between father & son , But at last, empire Akbar gave death sentence to Anarkali, but there was a doubt in the history of Anarkali's death, This flim was based on this historical story, not any historical truth...🙋🙋
No other directors can become movie like this again The legendry director K Asif The legendry actors Yusuf khan, prithvi raj kapoor Madhubala, and Ajeet khan Such a movie has never been made nor will it be made.
Hi Amanda, I am glad that you chose this song to watch. This movie is the magnum opus of the Indian cinema. It took 10 years to make this movie. The story is tragic. But the songs, sets, and costume are beyond words. The lady who is dancing is in love with the prince and the king is in denial about their love.
I still tear up watching this music video over and over, not just the first time. The music video is so beautiful that I have to watch the video along with the song all the time. I have never had to do something like this in my life.
This z from "mughal e Azam" ( the great mughals) based on true events ... Mughals was the rulers of India .. between 1526 and 1857... & The song u reacted the actress played the character of "Anarkali" ..Apparently she had an affair with Akbar's (king) son, Prince Salim. One day Akbar saw her return Salim's smile, and as punishment she was buried alive in 1599. When Salim became Emperor Jahangir, he built her a magnificent tomb.
Few recommended Lata songs - Sili hawa chhoo gayi Aji roothkar ab kahan jaiyega Wo ik nigaah kya mili (especially super high pitch interlude rendition by Lata) Man mohana bade jhoote (classic example of indian classical music with raga Jaijaiwanti) Aa jane ja aa meherbaan (again high pitch singing with long sustained notes, still pleasing to ears without shouting)
I have been to this place, not the movie set, but the actual place in the place where these dances by the same character (based on real life) happened in the 1500s. This is a real story from the 16th century. The place is called "sheesh mahal" (glass palace). These glasses and decorations are all gone as it is almost 500 years ago.
React to "Dil Hoom Hoom Kare - Rudaali " by Lata Mangeshkar. Excellent song from a very good film. Also "Tum Aa gaye ho noor aa gaya hai" from film Aandhi. Again from Lata Mangeshkar with Kishor Kumar
You must look for the meaning of lyrics , it’s a poetry . And this movie is based on a real life event , the romance between a court dancer and the prince , and the king was against their wil. She finally boldly expresses it through her song and dances and challenges the king .
It's a song of love rebellion ... she is a royal dancer , and love affair is going on in between the prince and the royal dancer , the emperor has some how come to know that and does not approve of it ...... through her song and dance this Royal dancer is in a way challenging the Emperor ... one of the lines which she sings is that " Parda nahi Jab Koi Khuda Se , bandhuon Se Parda karna kya " which means " when there is nothing secret from the God , why need we keep it ( love ) secret from the followers of God .
The young prince was actually Dilip Kumar - he was b. 1922 during when the British ruled India. He lived to see Mahatma Gandhi and the current generation of Bollywood. He is known as The Tragedy King and The First Ever Khan in Bollywood history, he is also a producer and a philanthropist. Speaking as of now, he is alive and well into the age of 97 ( 98 on 11th December 2020 inshallah ) Almost reaching his 100th, one of the best actors to ever star in Bollywood History. No one can match him, even the Greatest Rajesh Khanna believed Dilip Saab was the best ever.
She(Anarkali) was a court dancer & loved the Prince. For that she was buried alive behind a wall by the order of d King Akhbar. ( There's a doubt about her real existence. For many it's just a story.)
This song was the original and only coloured part of the movie originally. rest of the movie was colored later. This movie is based on the love story of one of the Princes of Mughal Dynasty which had once ruled India. Prince Jahangir (originally known as Salim)was the son of most famous and successful King from this Dynasty- Akbar. (Title of movie is in him). Salim started loving a courtesan Anarkali which was not acceptable to Akbar. So much so their story/Anarkali became a legend.
During the shooting of this song - she was on last stages of Blood Cancer, had temperate over 100° and body was breaking down... But she did not want producer's money and production's investment to go wasted so she continued - Soon after this movie was completed, she passed away - The lady was Madhubala - The MOST BEAUTIFUL woman to ever grace the Hindi Cinema till this day!
Mam, it's an Indian dance classical you will be surprised to see Indian culture and tradition.Do you know how much glass is used in this movie and it was masterpiece of that era
Hi Amanda... It's the greatest movie in the history of Indian cinema.. the dancer is the most beautiful actress of Indian cinema "madhubala"... She plays the courtesan who is in love with Salim (son of emperor Akbar). The old man is emperor Akbar who disapproves the affair between his son and a courtesan for obvious reasons ... This song is her last performance b4 the emperor could ask her to leave the palace forever. But even here she declares her love for the son of emperor which makes him furious .. This song was officially the 1st color song in Indian cinema. And u would be surprised to know that cuz der wasn't any auto tune and technology in that era, the music director made lata mangeshkar and the entire chorus sing in the bathroom of the studio for echo effects . Madhuri dixit is been called as the madhubala of Indian cinema.. if u notice minutely, der is an uncanny resemblance between madhubala's face and madhuri's face
Hey Amanda, this eternal song is from the film Mughal e Azam which rleased in 1960. It is still considered one of the greatest films of all time. It's about a love story between the prince and a dancer in his court. This song has amazing lyrics. My grandfather used to sing thia song to my father as a gud night song. My grandfather had its audio cassette. That is how I was introduced to this gem of a song. And it is one of my favourites even now. I get goosebumps even today when she challenges the king (the father of her lover) that "When nothing's hidden from the God, why hide it from humans. We are just in love, we need not to be afraid of anyone." Again a beautiful pick from u. Loved this reaction 🌼🙂
This movie in all aspects wheather its- sets, costumes, budget, performances, choreograpgy, cinemetrography, songs, music, direction, screenplay in each & everything "A-class"......only this song budget in Indian rs is 1cr+,,, only this song budget is equal to 6-7 movies at that time... 🙏
To really appreciate the song you should have reacted to this same song with subtitles..It is there on RU-vid. The dancer is expressing her love for the Prince and her intention to stay on in his life instead of going into exile as ordered by the Emperor who is against her association with the young Prince who is heir to the throne of India/Hindustan. In the song she is saying why should she have fear if she is in love..and that it is not hidden from the eyes of God why should she hide her love for the Prince from mere mortals..In years gone by, songs were not mere adornments or time pass but a means to tell and move the story forward...This song too has a consequence to itself and the singer ends up being thrown in the dungeon...
Amanda, you should try watching with lyrics.. you will be taken to a different worldy aura with those intriguing words and rich old indian literatures which hid a thousands of deep meaning inside a line.
This movie was made in black and white. Later with the use of technology and resources they made this song in colour and then because of huge demand and love from public they made this whole mughl-e-azam movie in colour. One can't find a single fault in the artwork of the colour version which was really incredible. ❤️
Hi Amanda, please react to queen in medley for lata ji.. i am sure you gonna love it.. it shows 5 decades of actresses for whom lata ji has given her beautiful voice.. pls pls react to it as well.. thanks in advance. :)
Correction: this is a Muslim version of the Hindu dance Kathak. You should react to real dance forms in India like Bharatantyam (which I did for ten years) or Odissi
It's amazing how the white people react like it's so amazing. It shows how Indian decorations and how Indian looks are so beautiful compared to white stuff.
